Raiders V Great Britain 1992

Post by 100%green »

I have been trying to remember this for years and finally found a video. You only see us quickly at the start but you see the special jerseys we had for the game.

Also makes me long for the old days of tours much like Union still have with Wales at the moment. in this video you'll see GB play the Eels, Knights and Steelers and a packed game against the Aussies.....Aaahh the old days!!!

In the 1st test highlights ET got burned , you wouldnt see that too often back then

Just on those highlights , they failed to show the Aussies winning the 1st test , also after looking it up they also didnt show GB losing to Parra

Wow, those jumpers were very different. I always laugh at how big they were compared to the ones these days.

Went to the Newcastle game.

The Eels game was the 1 where Lee Oudenryn raced Martin Offiah http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-K-pyGmWKXs

Bigger jerseys and the players weren't as big as they are now!

By Jonathan Davies - the union convert that left Brett Mullins for dead at Wembley.

Spent some time at Canterbury and South Queensland. A remarkable player.

Davis played for NQ as well. He was brilliant.

The Poms were quite good back in the day. It's a shame their quality dipped for a while there.

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Davies didn't quite go as well as expected in League. Fantastic rugby player but didn't quite make it in the NRL as hoped.
