Scathing assessment of him by Big Mal:

Kangaroos coach and rugby league Immortal Mal Meninga gave a blunt assessment of Taylor during that final season.

"His inconsistency is born out of his [lack of] desire and understanding to actually know about the little things in the game and what it actually takes to be a player that's consistent week in, week out," Meninga said on FOX Sports.

"He doesn't take great interest in the game but he does love playing the game."

I recall he had a chance to make some good money with the Toronto Wolfpack, but was sacked for disciplinary reasons (IIRC) before even playing a game.

Not sure what happened but thought he was pretty good in his sole season for Canberra. Pretty destructive going forward, always plenty of metres and not too many brain snaps that plagued him earlier in his career.

Thought he was worth a contract extension but perhaps an odd fit for the Canberra lifestyle and stupid even by footballing standards.

Bit strange really, they couldn't find a current nrl player to interview?

Fortunately there has been a bypass since the early 90s, they actually started works on in in 86, the year Carney was born.

It is actually very easy to detour Goulburn, though you can see it in clear view from the highway.

He was really banned by the order of the court. But that expired a long time ago.

Ironically the punishment for breaking the ban may well have involved being locked up..... in Goulburn 🤔
