I think Oldfield would have been better off staying in Canberra. Would have got more of a run this year than at the Eels.

But the Raiders didn't offer Oldfield a contract.

Fair enough, wasn't aware of that. I thought he left for more first grade opportunities elsewhere.

It’s almost like you’re suggesting instead of seeking more opportunities at new grounds he would have been better staying at his old field.

Nice to see Jonathon Rueben still having a run. I saw him carve things up for the Bushrangers down at Greenway one Sunday afternoon when he must have only been 17 or 18.

The one game he played for the Dragons was when they had their origin players out.

He didn’t even last ten minutes on the field before he had to come off completely gassed.

That would actually be pretty interesting to find out. Who’s played the most international games without playing top grade.

You’d have to look to the minnows

Being a smoker wouldn't have helped him.

Never got the hype. He's probably big enough to be an NRL middle now, but he wasn't back five odd years ago. And even then, any dumbbell can run straight at a defensive line with scant regard for self preservation. Doesn't mean you're any good.

I was talking to someone on Reddit about this in the WWE thread. A lot of people over there hate the name. I think it’s alright. He was rocking “The Samoan Ghost” which later became “The Ghost”.

I think Xyon Quinn is better than those

Loco-Vidot would be a marketable name. It’s both catchy and sounds like a dangerous Corona variant.

Holy Toledo it’s Daniel Vidot”.

At least Vidots fight with Ben Rogers had real punches and knees.

Wrestling is lame fullstop. So fake and poor acting at that

Congratulations to the BJs - cute, healthy looking Bub there!

There is a lovely pic on his Instagram of him carrying bub out of hospital. It’s captured a beautiful moment, and I know it’s just a force of habit, but hard not to worry that Joey has a loose carry about him.

Jokes aside I’m sure he will be a great Dad and I wish him every happiness!

Cobargo butchery reopens after fires with former Raiders star David Boyle at the helm

Rugby league star David Boyle has gone full circle, reopening the same small town butchery where he started his apprenticeship after the store had been damaged by bushfires. He is serving customers again at Bennys Butchery in Cobargo, about 18 months after the 2019-2020 bushfires destroyed parts of the town and region.

I was working at the Cobargo bakery in the early 00’s when he came back to town and finished his apprenticeship. Great guy.

Cross has had a vast career within rugby league from playing in amateur grades through to the highest level of professional sport.
