Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

I've had a little look for Kurt Baptiste's name amongst the NRL squads and didn't see it anywhere. Does anyone know where he's playing this season?
Have always held him in high regard and I'm baffled as to why teams like Tiger's and Shark's haven't been interested in poaching himm

I am just about to listen to the latest talking with TK podcast featuring Blake Austin.

I am a big fan of his podcasts and interviewing style so it will be interesting to hear what Austin has to say about his time in Canberra.

Mal Cochran was a cop, was posted to Young and Captain coached the team for a season or two. A big miss from that team is Ron Lynch who played for Young, Parra and Australia in the 60s. Another very good player from earlier days was Ike Fowler, played for NSW as did Bob Honeysett.

Daniel Vidot has just made a TV appearance as a WWE wrestler.

On this week's episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Vidot appeared for the first time on Smackdown, losing to Sheamus - a former WWE Champion.

‘It was just like my Canberra Raiders debut’: Secret behind ex-NRL player Daniel Vidot’s first WWE match

Former NRL player Daniel Vidot has revealed his WWE TV debut was “very alike” his first game for the Canberra Raiders.

“One day before. It reminded me of my debut for the Raiders,” he said. “My coach being David Furner (at the Raiders) and he let me know, and now my coach here, Matt Bloom, he did the message. It was very alike, the next day as well.

Mystery surrounds death of former Canberra Raiders player Mitch Cronin

Mystery surrounds the death of a young footballer found floating in his parent's pool, after an autopsy revealed he didn't suffer a heart attack as was initially suspected. Canberra Raiders player Mitch Cronin, 27, was found face down in the water at his parent's Brisbane home in April after completing a weights training session.

Doctors initially believed he had suffered a heart attack, but a post-mortem found no evidence of a cardiac condition meaning Cronin's cause of death is 'inconclusive'. The Queensland coroner also found bite marks on the NRL hopeful's lips and has suggested Cronin may have suffered a seizure while swimming in the pool.

Thompson hopeful of premiership before joining Super League as he reveals reasons behind decision

Popular Manly forward Joel Thompson has been granted a release to join St Helens next year. The 31-year-old was contracted to the Sea Eagles until the end of 2021 but requested a release to chase a multi-year deal.

“It’s just a great opportunity for me and my family,” he said. “My wife’s going to be a school teacher so it’s an opportunity for her to teach over there and especially for my girls and for myself, I’ve always wanted to have a crack over there, I love watching that type of footy.

Former assistant coach Ben Cross launches legal action against the Broncos

Cross, represented by Robert Lamb, a director at Brisbane-based Hillhouse Legal Partners, told The Daily Telegraph he has been left feeling “embarrassed, awful and insulted”.

The former NRL front-rower was a Broncos assistant coach this year – along with Peter Gentle and Kurt Richards – with his role centring around the middle forwards, defence and contact. Cross, 41, became the only assistant coach stood down before COVID and claimed Gentle and Richards were only asked to accept a pay cut or take annual leave – an opportunity not offered to Cross.

Unlucky for Ben that he was up against it from the start. Kurt Richards is untouchable in QRL politics.

Chance call delivers former Canberra Raiders forward Luke Bateman to Wynnum Manly Seagulls

Luke Bateman has been around for long enough to know that things can happen pretty quickly in rugby league. But even after 10 years in the NRL system, Bateman admits he is stunned by the rapid nature of events that paved the way for an unexpected comeback in the Brisbane Rugby League.

Bateman is now preparing to play for the Wynnum Manly Seagulls in their Round 3 clash against the Carina Tigers at Kitchener Park tomorrow.
