Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

Scathing assessment of him by Big Mal:

Kangaroos coach and rugby league Immortal Mal Meninga gave a blunt assessment of Taylor during that final season.

"His inconsistency is born out of his [lack of] desire and understanding to actually know about the little things in the game and what it actually takes to be a player that's consistent week in, week out," Meninga said on FOX Sports.

"He doesn't take great interest in the game but he does love playing the game."

I recall he had a chance to make some good money with the Toronto Wolfpack, but was sacked for disciplinary reasons (IIRC) before even playing a game.

Not sure what happened but thought he was pretty good in his sole season for Canberra. Pretty destructive going forward, always plenty of metres and not too many brain snaps that plagued him earlier in his career.

Thought he was worth a contract extension but perhaps an odd fit for the Canberra lifestyle and stupid even by footballing standards.

Former Raiders Andrew Heffernan and Nigel Plum helping raise awareness in league's head knock battle

ANDREW Heffernan pulled over to the side of an English road. Deep down, he knew he was also at the end of it. He couldn't dismiss the severe headaches, vertigo and balance issues that five concussions in the space of a year on the rugby league field had caused.

Bit strange really, they couldn't find a current nrl player to interview?

He kinda has a dig at the club, read to me a bit like sour grapes

It is actually very easy to detour Goulburn, though you can see it in clear view from the highway.

Todd Carney opens up on controversial NRL career and ‘the bubbler photo’ that ended it

Rugby league bad boy Todd Carney has given a revealing insight into his tumultuous NRL days, his battle with the booze and the infamous photo that brought his career crashing down.

Carney gave an in-depth interview with A Current Affair on Channel 9 on Thursday night in which no stone was left unturned in an NRL career that featured a Dally M Medal but was also littered with indiscretions that ultimately ended his time in first grade.
