The ARU provides a perfect sports administration case study of arrogance stemming from a height the game never expected to end, expanding to fast whilst simultaneously neglecting grass roots all at a time when all it's other sporting code rivals made massive gains in terms of media deals and coverage.

The quality of the australian side is at an all time low. The games are awful.

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

Me neither. That’s why I brought it up. I’m bitter AF.

Sure he’s got to draw the line somewhere. But how can you draw it at people you’ve never met? They should be invited right?

On another note credit to whoever runs the PA system for the Crusaders.

When they came back from 29-0 to beat the Waratahs 31-29 they started playing YMCA around the ground as the crowd danced to it.

Nice not so subtle dig at Izzy there.

I’ll be interested to hear the crowd size.

Raiders crowds used to claim about 8,500 when you could see it was way way less than a Brumbies or Soccer crowd of 10,000.

It will be interesting to see what the Brumbies claim tonight.

Still looks more than the Rugby League World Cup that claimed over 6,000 people for Italy versus Fiji (but in reality there was less than 3k and just 75 people in the Meninga stand).

This year the Raiders vs Eels crowd was higher than the Raiders vs Dogs crowd.

I was super skeptical about that.

Wow... no wonder they’re talking about playing games at “boutique venues” like Viking Park. Here’s a tip... a 25,000 capacity ground is not far off a “boutique ground”.

Seems the Brumbies also lost by three points to the Melbourne Rebels. I knew a board member some time ago, and their goal was to destroy the Canberra Raiders and rugby league in this town. Doesn't look like it is happening.

I used to actually go to Brumbies games. Haven't watched a union game in years now

Sounds like a typical rugby union tosser.

For a code run by elite school old boys and business 'elite' it sure knows how to **** the bed financially on a regular basis.

Brumbies are the point where more people will start going to their games ironically than there to actually support them.

(I am considering doing this with people if they still have those deals where you free tickets with a burger at one of the pubs)

My perception of Brumbies games from the golden era, is that a large chunk of the crowd weren't there because of the game, in fact they had little interest. They were there to be seen and to socialise. The novelty of that seems to have dropped off and so have the crowds.

That was certainlymthe case at Reds games. People would literally not look up at the game.
