I think any activity where a judge determines the winner over individual ability makes something a competition, not a sport.
I think that's a sport, but it isn't a sport if it involves a machine. Motor racing isn't a sport. Events involving animals, like horses, very dubious. I'm inclined to say not. But if it is primarily the human's endeavours, possibly involving rudimentary forms of equipment, that's sport. Doesn't matter if it is judges awarding points.
See, back in the day, I would argue about Motor racing being sport. These days, when your ability to make it to the top relies on how much money you can bring over athletic ability, it’s a business and no longer a sport.

If the winner is determined by a judge, it means it’s subject to interpretation. Bias can come into play and cloud their decision. For it to be a sport, it’s got to be determined by the skill of the athlete.

I don’t have any hard and fast rules
But I know a sport when I see it

I don’t feel like skateboarding or motor sport qualify
Skateboarding is a hobby and motor sport’s primary determining factor of success is the machine

Congratulations to the Aussie swim team for a Bronze, Silver and Gold medal achieved today. Woman's 4 x 100m in World record time. A number of these swimmers have other events to compete in later today and tomorrow so hats off to those who can hit peak form at just the right time.

Very much enjoyed the 61kg weight lifting
Li Fabin from China dominated, but my early pick, Igor Son, Son of Igor rallied delightfully to bring home bronze for Kazakhstan

Australia finish second in their heat of the Men's 4x100 freestyle relay. Australia qualify in third for the final, behind Italy and the USA. That's it for Australia in the pool tonight.

Lots of action for the Australians in the finals and semi finals tomorrow from 11:30am.

Bronze for Emma McKeon in the Women's 100m butterfly. Just seemed to falter a little one stroke out from the wall.

Thomas Neill in fourth in the Men's 200m freestyle semi final. That was great swimming from him, he looked like he was going to finish in the top three, so close. He just misses the final, with only the top three making it from the first semi final.

That was just incredible to watch. It was like watching the Raiders against the Eels in the final 20 minutes. Heart beating fast, I was screaming at the TV. Bit of a tear now.
