Christ, what a failure Rio has been for Australia. Too many Aussie athletes were just "happy to be there".

Goodness people. I should hope the athletes are happy just to be there. Winning is a bonus.

Is there really such an effort/attitude problem amongst athletes who train for years for a two week period? It'd surprise me.

Also, in terms of focus on what's not been achieved... isn't it the sports bodies themselves who told taxpayers that the investment is worth it, and success would come in terms of medals and placing on a medal tally? They're understandably being held to account now.
