He's the type of bloke that will charter his own jet! The post race interview today he talked about how he's now one of the older heads in the squad and how he's using his experiences including London to guide the others  . First class ticket at the very least for him.
We continue to **** about with blokes that are part of some fraternity. It's infuriating.

The Australians finish out of the finals in womens' 100 backstroke. Seventh and eighth. :( Seebohm was first on the turn.

Those are two gold medal chances gone.

Rio 2016

Post by Sid »

I'm not a big basketball fan or anything but as a kid I remember the boomers highest profile player was Andrew gaze from the Sydney kings.

How good is it now to watch a few NBA stars like Mills, Bogut and Dellavadova getting about for them now!

Is Phil Smyth playing point guard?
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

That Millman bloke in the tennis was up 5-2 in the first set and then 4-0 in the tiebreaker and still lost the set.

Now the Kookaburras have been beaten 1-0 by... Belgium! Yesterday Spain, today Belgium. Terrible campaign for a team that's perennially at the top of the sport.

The Aussie 'team' sports are choking, bar the Womens Rugby.
Womens Soccer (Football) are ranked 5 in the world. Lost their 1st 2 games to decent opponents. Then thrash a nobody in Zimbabwe, and everyone cheers. Lucky they get a leg up due to their ranking.
Both hockey teams are stinking it up of late. Both are among the top teams in the world.
Our 7s Rugby boys took at least half a game to warm up. Not sure where they rank TBH.

Our swimmers are very up and down.

Australia misses the medals in the mens' 4x200m free relay. Didn't field McEvoy though.

Phelps 21 gold medals. That's incredible.

It has been a great session of swimming, outstanding, amazing. Just a shame Australia ended with just one bronze.

Good question, GE
I've seen very little evidence of the famed Winning Edge strategy
Perhaps the dirty double agent turncoat, Woodgers, architect of the Winning Edge strategy can explain to us all what this is and why it's embarrassing an entire nation on the world stage

I wish I could, but it isn't my strategy! Nup, i'm just a few steps removed in my ivory tower waiting for the washer to stop.

The Winning Edge goal is a top 5 finish. Still in the hunt but I fear our mostly likely medals are now past.

Sort of a long term investment strategy GE. Sports nominate what they think they can achieve and they're funded accordingly.
