NFL is a laugh

Firstly, let me say, I enjoy watching the NRL. I even picked the Seahawks to win the comp last season and won a few k. What I hate is people dissing the NRL and comparing it to the NRL.

The NRL is a robot sport. Everyone looks the same. Except for some tall offensive linebackers that have dreadlocks creeping out from there helmet as they goose step down the side line. As soon as the cover comes over they feebly run over the touch line.

The catch that Beckam took was hailed as the greatest catch aof all time. I've seen ten times better in one season of afl or NRL. It was a good take. That's it. was watching the ny game on replay and my housemate barely raised an eyebrow at that catch.

Piggies is on fire!

I'm much to lazy to respond with a gif, but if I knew how it would be of a dwarf in a wheelchair giving you two thumbs up.

The NRL is not fit to polish the shoes of the NFL.

If that is what this thread is about.

I'm very keen to understand the role of an "offensive" linebacker, Begs. What does he do?

Nothing. The gloves have aids for grip, but they don't use any other substance.
The guy just happens to be a freak, deal with it

Cant see it being anything different from the gloves AFL players wear or the spray League players use.

It appears to revolve around gloves as sticky as a Cinnabon covered in molasses.

For anyone who has had a Cinnabon that is a frightening thought.

So I looked into it, you can use anything you want as long as it doesn't leave a residue on the ball.

Apparently in the 70's they had this glue like substance called Stickum. It was ok until a few players started smearing their entire bodies in it so the could make catches with their arms and actually stick to the other player if running a block or tackling.

It then got banned and they use these high tech gloves, which are actually pretty awesome, they totally stop any spin on the ball instantly and have reinforcing on the thumb and index finger creating a pouch a bit like a baseball glove.

Get your hand to it in the right position and its just going to stick to the glove.

Still got to get there and be in the right position though and they wouldn't be much use to us as we actually have to pass the ball once we catch it. There's some video's of footballs just hanging there on two fingers.

That's dynamite material there, scoop, you'll blow the case wide open once you convince the Captain down at the station. Don't you have, I dunno, a wife...or kids...or some semblance of a life...or ANYTHING that's better that what you're doing now?
