Certainly not me, nor would I be interested in doing so.

For someone who was reportedly in a bad financial situation not a bad way to earn some quick cash, $400k if reports are to believed.

I don't think he was conflicted, he's been obviously gay to anyone with half an operative gaydar since he became an adult. I reckon he just didn't want to be a posterboy, just wanted to live his life. The denials were unnecessary and he could've adopted what Peter Fitzsimons today memorably called the Alan Jones Nuclear Warships policy of "neither confirm or deny". That part of the article is no longer on the Herald's website (for some reason!) but the article is still pretty good. http://www.smh.com.au/sport/swimming/ia ... zt5rm.html

Haha, yeah good call. Warney coming out would peak my interests

Is the Courier mail the most pathetic news outlet in the history of print media?

Agree - what sort of paper deems "Classroom Brides" front page worthy.

Thorpey is out but he doesn't seem particularly proud, I hope he has good people around him.

couldn't care less about the individual, but the more athletes that come out, the better IMO.

Just putting this into context there's about 60+ adult players contracted to each of the 16 NRL clubs when you count reserve, NYC and first grade. were probably talking 1000 plus players and afaik not one of them is openly gay. everyone rolls out the it's 2014 stuff, but in pro sport it's definitely not.

And that's without even touching on the Michael Craig situation in the NFL.

H ah I knew I had that name wrong but changing tabs on the iPad tends to delete what I've written.

I'm not sure the Michael Sam situation is in need of being touched on.
