Got in for the last session, went for a walk and someone gave me their ticket on the way out. One advantage of living one block away from Manuka Oval!

Exactly, think of the kids.

I'll wait for a response from Fergus.

Not online. He's probably off robbing an orphanage or something.

AUS 1/16

Harris out 14

Koala in, needs a score.

AUS lead by 335

Harris misses out again. Caught 2nd slip for 14. This time it was more good bowling than ill disciplined batting. Ball angled across and shaped back in a little before seaming away off the deck. Perfect ball to grab and edge.

There will be criticism of Harris again but sometimes you need to simply credit the bowler for a good delivery.

Burns gone now. Most identical to Harris dismissal but this time left hand bowler to right hand batter.

Who's Rick Nixon ?

If you ask FOXCRICKET commentator Mel Jones he's SRI fielding coach.

I thought he's name was Steve Rixon..but we'll move on.

Marnus back in the pavillion. Caught behind again. 1st innings it was a good ball. This time it was a classic 'hang the bat out to dry' type shot. Not good.

Haha, Brendan Julian on Fox saying "Australia 3 down and in a bit of trouble. Badly needing a partnership." Does he know we're 370 ahead??

Anyway, Warne is right. Khawaja needs a spell, been terrible for most of the summer
Khawaja will slap a solid 50* in the 2nd innings and secure a plane ride to ENG.

This is the last test until the Ashes in August.

Khawaja was always going to England. It just helps that he's going with some runs under him.

Still pretty funny listening to Dickwella behind the stumps giving it to Usi. "Really hope you get some runs here. Don't want you feeling bad watching your team play on TV." :D

Keepers have traditionally been good on the banter. What's new this season is we're being allowed to hear it and its been great.

Think its also toned down criticism of sledging. What we've heard is not crossing any boundaries.

Maybe I've got the name wrong I think an upstanding gentleman by the name Rick Nixon was an AFL player manager that got in strife for grooming a minor a few years back, amongst other things.

Khawaja brings up hos ton and the declaration comes. 4 centuries this test for the Aussies after none this summer.

Somewhat ironically, before this test the last player to make 100 for Australia was Khawaja. He once again holds that honour.

Looks like 'the elephant' just confirmed my suspicions:

"Usman Khawaja has admitted his brother's arrest as part of an investigation into a notebook allegedly outlining plans to kill senior politicians has been weighing heavily on his mind during a form slump on the cricket field."

In hindsight it's fully understandable. Hopefully opening up about it will help him deal with it and return to the form we're more familiar with.
