Occasion got to India

I always thought they were a bit overrated, but you could see they were deer in the headlights the way they bowled and got taken to pieces by Healy and Mooney

Something really seems to have flicked in Maddinsons brain. He has become a run machine. A pair of 66's in the Shield.
He has 780runs from 10 innings @ 86.66. He avgs 30 more than Tom Cooper at 2nd, with SMarsh 3rd at 48.26.

Started watching “The Test” on Amazon Prime.

2 episodes in, I’m loving it.

Can easily see why Usman has failed to cement a spot in the Test team. All the talent in the world, but he’s mentally unfit. And has a bit of Mundine ego about him.

Odd. I got the exact opposite impression of Khawaja. I think the series paints him as a strong man willing to speak out when others feeling the same way aren't.
well, I guess you could say that I'm buy curious.

Good on him for retiring. He shouldn't be forced to break into the NSW team without the safety net of a contract when he's the best state level spinner in the country. He took his wickets @ 22 this shield season and he doesn't get a contract. Farcical.

You just put more spin on the situation than SOK ever put on a delivery.

I kid I kid. I was never a huge fan, but he is clearly one of the best spinners in Australia. Shouldn’t be in this position.

To me he came across as willful and independent but still a dedicated, hard worker. Can be a fine line between speaking out and being belligerent. He didn't strike me as the latter.

No Stoinis is the biggest one for me, esp after his numbers at state and T20 level last season.

No great shock for me. They have 20 contracts to hand out covering all 3 forms of the game. Stoinis won't play Test cricket and unlikely to make the ODI team. That only leaves T20 and realistically he's been a dud at International level in that format. In short he hasn't earned a CA contract.

Pretty much, he made 150 on debut on a postage stamp and has done **** all since

Not a lot of point paying retainers to wildly inconsistent players ie Khawaja

AUS has just lost the T20 series in England.

Down 2-0 with a game to play.

2 massive batting collapses..

We have never quite got hold of this form of the game.

The problem is balance/ experience. Our top 6 or 7 all play in the top 3-4 for their teams. The middle order doesnt know how to be a middle order in T20. There was an article with Patty the other day, talking about this fact.
IMO, Maxy isnt the guy. He has proven time and time again, he doesn't have the temperament to hold his nerve long enough to be fully set. He NEEDS to play the big shot. He needs to be at a strike rate above 100 from ball 1. I think he is a #3 or #4.
Ive seen Stoinis play both roles, go crazy and go slow. However, if going slow, he seems to find it hard to break back out without swinging like a barn door.
I cant remember a real 'glue' like player from the recent Big Bash, but I remember watching Johno Wells do it a few times from #5.
