Smith is copping a hammering. Commentators have gone quiet. Not nice.

Dramatic scenes - he doesn't want to go off clearly. England have found the way to get Steve Smith out of the game. Injure him.

Brutal ball. Notice Smith doesn’t have the extra padding behind the ear holes. Might have taken some of that’s impact

If you can't take his wicket, take his health instead

He was playing flustered with the forearm injury anyway, the blow to the neck was scary. Before the forearm strike he was looking unflappable.

That was a very scary blow. I didn’t realise how bad it was until they showed the replay later.

Can't get him out. So fell him.
Comes back, 2nd ball, clobbers it to long on.
3rd ball smashes it to long off.

Passed the concussion test but he is still looking a bit streaky. If he gets 100 it will be incredible effort

It looked like a direct hit on his neck from Archer. When he came back the old patience was gone. He looked like he was trying to score as quickly as possible. His LBW was as plumb as it gets and for him to offer no shot, indicates he was (naturally) still shaken up by the blow he had taken. It will be interesting to see what England do. I suspect they will leave Australia about a session to bat tomorrow and unleash Archer in an effort to gain a psychological edge for the remainder of the series.

Imo if we are to match that type of pace and aggression we will need to select Starc for the next Test match.

I'm looking at this scorecard...and seeing shades of Adelaide 2006 in it.

That would be fun :D

On a more serious note, though, I really hope Smith is okay and that we don't rush anything. Concussion is not a joke, and I would hate to see his series decimated by repercussions if we don't let him recover now.

I'm really annoyed about this rain. Here we have the prospect of a thrilling finish but the ****ing rain could spoil it.

Big news that Smith woke up with a headache and feeling dizzy - that's bad. Australia are applying for a concussion sub. Laubuschagne(sp?) will be the one to bat if approved.

I contemplated staying up for the whole day's play if we got quick wickets early and it looked like we'd be chasing early but I think I will stick to the go-to-bed-at-lunch plan.

Jesus **** we've been so conservative with our DRS in this innings and we blow one on THAT?!

Can someone please explain why they don’t use hotspot in DRS anymore?

Originally they only used hotspot, then they went to sound/snicko with hotspot, now it’s just sound/snicko (UltraEdge)

Something to do with it being military heat seeking technology and it takes ages to get approval to use it
