Aussies staring down the barrel of another flogging by the Kiwis. Chasing 220 they're currently 6-122 with 6 overs to go.

Re: The Cricket Thread
I spoke too soon. When I posted it was Sams and Stoinis at the crease and they both went off. Only fell a couple of boundaries short.

Re: The Cricket Thread
Came oh so close.
The bowling is very loose.
Chasing 219 for the win was always going to be a task.
Stoinis and Sams added 97 from 37 balls..it was good to watch..

For Australia he's only failed these last 2 innings. Form in the ODIs against India was top shelf.
You don't punt your skipper after 2 dud knocks.

So far we've seen big scores from the discarded test batsmen in Head, Burns and Khawaja.

Re: The Cricket Thread
Henriques with yet another century and Head with a double. What a great selection it was to pick Wade ahead of them!
well, I guess you could say that I'm buy curious.

Re: The Cricket Thread
Looks like the guys scoring runs have either been recently dropped from the test team or in the squad and can't get a go.

Almost all the guys getting runs in the Shield at the moment are current or former test bats.

We (AUS) continue to bowl dumb.
JRichardson bowls a tight over then throws a bouncer down at Guptill who depatches it into the stands.

Yup. TBH, that's the way it should be. If u r good enough to play for your country, you should be able to get runs against the statesNorthern Raider wrote: ↑March 2, 2021, 6:57 pm Almost all the guys getting runs in the Shield at the moment are current or former test bats.

The takeaway could be that they are picking the best players. They're just not performing up to scratch at Test level.Matt wrote: ↑March 4, 2021, 7:27 pmYup. TBH, that's the way it should be. Green in rare form. We now need to see him transfer that to the Test arena. You do get the feeling it's a case of when it happens rather than if.
