Re: The Cricket Thread
Imam came in for Sohail and Iftikhar holds his spot. Tough call on Sohail IMO. He's paying the price for an unsuccessful move to no3. Better to move him back down the order again.
Muhammad Musa also making his debut in place of the last debutant in Naseem Shah.

There was a stat earlier saying that 30 overs in, or 180 balls bowled, only 5 would have hit the stumps

Re: The Cricket Thread
I just witnessed some of the worst fielding I’ve ever seen, since a teammate back in U10’s copped a sky ball to the Adam’s apple and we had to call an ambulance.
What’s a term used to describe the next level beyond embarrassing? Pakistan are there now.

Re: The Cricket Thread
If Inzy was still captain, he’d not only rip them off the field but they’d be on the next flight back to Pakistan.
Only saving grace is Uzzi isn’t in this side, otherwise he’d score a backyard ton and lock himself in for the next 3 series minimum.

Re: The Cricket Thread
So..
Here's what I reckon.
AUS to push on for another 2 sessions today, about 500-550 and send PAK into bat late tonight.
Starc, Hazlenuts and Pat to tear thru them..they could be 2-3 down at stumps..
And a bold prediction from me...SMITH to fail again.

Re: The Cricket Thread
Not that bold. Certainly feels like the 1st Test repeating. 550-600 IMO, as i see us batting into that 3rd session, waiting for the swing assistance.
I too think we get 2 or 3 before stumps.
As for Smith, I reckon 50-99. Out trying to move the scoring rate along.

Re: The Cricket Thread
The Pakistani's will bring the leggie on as soon as Smith comes out to bat. He has a strong record of getting Smith out. A personal challenge for Smith with the team scoring well without his contribution in the first Test. Should be intriguing cricket.

Re: The Cricket Thread
PAK tactics were terrible yesterday. Insisting with bowlers that were clearly being slapped to all parts. The horse has bolted, AUS will pile on the misery today..bat just once..again..and take the 20 wickets required.
PAK have been dissapointing. They say you can't win a test match on Day 1 but out can certainly lose one.

That young WA allrounder Cam Green is in the runs again. 95*. Has scored if 87 and 121 in the Shield this yr already.

Babar is good, maybe very good. Could easily be a Warner type guy.
Rizwan is a pocket rocket. Reminds me of Kaluwithirana (spelling?), the diminitive SL keeper who opened the batting with Jaysuria all those yrs ago.
Nassem Shah, 16, bowls 140+, gets a bit of bounce and movement. He has promised.
Shaheen Shah Afridi, does have some Phil Tufnel about his fielding, BUT, has been their best bowler in both games IMO. Only 19 too.
Yasih Shah is good, but his record off the sub continent is poor. Wrong side of 30 now too.
They have some pieces, but some spuds in between.
Re: The Cricket Thread
Always been the story with Pakistan - they have some flashes of brilliance, and some brilliant players, but it's largely drowned out by mediocrity, lazy fielding and poor tactics / feel for the game.
Hope Labu keeps this up. In the short time he has been in the team he has been everything Khawaja wasn't as a number 3. Reliable, consistent and gritty even when the going is tough.
