Runs on the board NR..

Paine should declare.
Think he wants to get the lead beyond 70 to really pile on the pressure.

Yeah I would feel more confident with Khawaja in the middle order , even though I've been a critic of his in the past. Burns, there isn't a person on the planet that could argue for his selection for the next match.

I don’t think Koala is on the selectors radar Azza.

The selectors do have options but formers player..now commentators have their opinions.

If Warner is fit he opens.

Warner
Harris
Labu
Smith
Wade
Green

That’s the top 6 being tossed up.

He’s certainly in the mix and has been talked up by some. He suffered concussion a few weeks ago but has recovered. There’s some “experts” in cricketing circles that believe they’d like to see him slap more 100s and “prove his fitness” while others believe he’s ready today and deserves his chance. With an Ashes series next Year I’d like to see him blooded now but hey..I’m just a lounge chair fan..

I should change that to no way anybody gets dropped for Marcus Harris. He had 17 test innings and passed 50 twice with an average of 24. Nobody in the current team is going as bad as that (Joe Burns included). He shouldn't even be in the conversation.

I'd consider giving George a go. Backward stance might throw off the Indian bowlers.

First time since 1984/85 Australia has failed to make more than 200 in consecutive first innings

This innings was also their slowest run rate since 1987 (1.95 RPO in 103 overs.. yawn)

Caine is a numpty.

Bonehead's side is about as good as we could hope for (I'm actually for picking Maxwell over Head tbh) but I doubt they will drop Head.

However if one of the big 3 don't score runs again we are in big trouble.

Boney .. No Paine as the skipper? Smith is out of form both with the bat and with his usually reliable slip fielding. There is also more time needed for the sandpaper to smooth the deck imo.

Joe Burns is out of form and I think the selectors were rewarded when he hit the winning runs in the first Test, but he was true to form in the second Test. Pick a player who is out of form at First Class level and expecting him to succeed at Test level says more about Hohns than Burns. He should not be in the side and I have been one of his biggest supporters on here. The selectors will be hoping for a Warner led recovery. I usually prefer for selectors to go with a youth policy but Pucovski will have a target on his helmet. It will be a huge Test for the young man should he be picked. However it would allow Wade to move into the middle order.

Our bowlers created plenty of chances but the catches were not held. This is usually our strong suit and to see 5 go down in a single innings is a rare event for Australia. Hopefully Langer has some extra catching drills in store for the side before the next Test.

Smith's form suddenly fell off after back to back dominant centuries in the 50 over games, just needs a bit of luck back on home soil at tge SCG.

Maxwell IMO is in the most talented cricketers we have, form in shorter format is good, great fielder, additional spin option on a traditional spin friendly deck.

Happy to go with the norm of Paine captain and keeper over Wade.

I'm a frustrated cricket lover who is struggling to accept current performances on home soil, I recognise these 2 teams have the best bowling attacks in world test cricket.

Joel Caine is throwing Maxwell into the mix to pull money out of suckers, hoping it gets overlooked amid his other fairly reasonable bets (changes).

Tim Paine is CAs sweetheart.

He’s the skip and keeper until he calls stumps.

At 36 I don’t think it’ll be long.

Maxy for the test team is one of the funnier suggestions I've heard to fix our batting.

Our batting is so funny that I think we need funny suggestions (which was partly why I thumbsed up bonesy's line-up).

Maxwell does have a test century after all. I'm a bit sick of Head's well crafted 30s and 40s that have little to no bearing on the match.
