This is a very weird and interesting Test. Test cricket doing weird things happens, but WOW!

As far as selection goes, I suspect there is still only 1 decision for the next Test... Burns - Yes or No... as he smashes two 4s off Ashwin.

Wade has looked better at the top, and for Burns to stay in the conversation, I suspect he needs to be 'not out' as we win.

Congrats to Australia. Burns 6 to finish off the Indians and complete his 50. Not quite Doug Walters 6 against the Poms off the final ball of the day in the 74/75 series to bring up a ton, but he did the job and I was wrong about his selection in this Test.

Unbelievable collapse by India. They all chose the same innings to fail. Great bowling by Hazelbrook and Cummings.

Burns finished the innings in style. Took him a while to warm into it. Was scoring freely later. Selectors have a tough choice to make with Warner's return. Somebody is going to be unlucky to miss out.

Don't think anyone was wrong to say it was the wrong call

His innings yesterday was based on a freedom they were chasing 90, so he didn't have the same cloud of "I can't get out" hanging over him.

If we were chasing 300 it might've been a different story, but good on him, and hopefully that innings kicks him on for the rest of the summer

Burns finishing unbeaten was massive for his confidence.

Only chasing 90 for the win..if he had of failed the swords would be out for the beheading..

I hope he kicks on. He steered us to victory yesterday and good on him for that.

Chasing a low total was no get out of jail free card. If he didn't score he'd have been certain to make way for Warner.

If we're debating right and wrong calls then the right call would have been to bring in Khawaja for Burns. The wrong call would have been to replace Burns with Harris.

Let's face it... he was the last man standing. So his selection was more like default.

So, the question is, if Warner is fit, who misses out?

Green forced his way in, and while he missed out in the 1st innings, his dismissal required a screamer from Kohli. This pushed Wade to open. Is he is the odd man out?

Head? Is he holding onto a spot? I suspect so, but... ???

Who to leave out for Warner is a very tough call. I really hope they keep Green. He's a serious talent and deserves a decent shot. You're right that Wade might be the unlucky one. He's not really an opener and if you keep Green he's superfluous to needs.

TBH, another game to assess who, is beneficial. Becomes a 3 way bat off. Burns vs Wade vs Head. I really really really think they like what they see in Green and wanna see more.

Tbh I think if it came down to the chop:

Since the first test of the Ashes

Wade 2 100s 1 50
Head 1 100 2 50s
Burns (didn't play in England) 3 50s

Watto was the closest we've had. Not quite good enough with either bat or ball though. You need someone who can legitimately hold their place in the team with either discipline. Green has that potential.

I'm far more impressed by Green now than I was at any stage of Watson's career.
