Cannot wait for Villa/Fulham this Sunday morning. The Raiders and Villa have an uncanny resemblance when it comes to consistency. Bring it home Villa!

I guess you used up all your sporting luck this weekend on the Raiders!

RTW will be over the moon. Be interesting to see where Mitrovic ends up, you'd think Fulham will buy him but his price will increase now that he helped them to promotion.

Be interesting to see how Jokanovic goes in Premier League, should have been there a few seasons ago when he got Watford and auto promotion spot.

Yeah Schifty! I am in struggle town today living on the couch and about to hopefully have a nap!
I spoke to a few of the boys who were at the game a couple of hours ago. Well I spoke they mumbled and sang and carried on!
As much as teams don’t want to go down to the championship it is a lot more fun then when they were in the premier league and you spent the year getting excited if you thought they could sneak into 9th!

I'm having a good day.

Much better than the Liverpool goal keeper.

I don't watch soccer, but I did see that...

It had always been the most entertaining league purely because of the insane momentum shifts around the table.

Fulham were 18th in November and 15th in December. Don't think anyone expected them to go within a whisker of an automatic promotion

All came down to the loan signings. To have a 23 match unbeaten that league is unheard of..

There is some talk of Chelsea going after Jokanovic but I can't see them signing someone from the championship even if he is a former player...

Fulham would have to be insane to let him go.

Yep... painful painful stuff... feel for karius... as a keeper hes god awful at times , but youve got to feel for a bloke who made his 2 biggest cockups in a CL final.... dont get me wrong, sell him tomorrow... but in a nice way for the sake of his mental health...

I'm not a soccer/football fan but I do enjoy the excitement of the World cup. I can watch a few games every four years and enjoy the spectacle. I noticed that Australia was $14 to beat France. I hadn't realised the Frogs were so good, again, at soccer. Is there a side that is going to give Germany a decent challenge?

It's not so much they're so good, Australia have been pretty bog ordinary for a while.

They've had 2 friendlies against sides so are basically on holidays where they've done well, but the real test will be to not get demolished by France

Spain for me. They probably have the best defence in the comp this year

I think their period of dominance is over. They'll go deep for sure, but i think the tiki-taka has been figured out.... Brazil have a very well balanced side this cup, not as attack heavy as it has been in the past... Germany are Germany, their no nonsense and you cant overstate german efficiency...

best scenario anyone not supporting the 5ish countries that realistically have a shot can hope for is for a similar scenario to the euros happening with a team like Iceland causing upset after upset and going within a whisker of the big dance... id love for that to happen... plus, who doesnt love a good viking clap?

Russia smashing RSA. It looked like RSA were the more skilled side but Russia just had much more energy (and more to play for - the winters in Siberia are apparently a great motivational tool for an underachieving soccer team).

SBS has been an absolute institution when it comes to football. Shame that they're not televising all games.

Whoever at SBS made the decision to onsell most of their matches to Optus needs to be taken out back and shot.

Optus don't even have the capabilities to properly run it. If their stream was crashing and freezing for the demand of Morocco vs Iran how do you think it will go when they have an exclusive quarter final?

Also a giant middle finger to SBS's core older demographic. How many of them have even heard of streaming?

World's biggest sporting event and you expect people to stream it on their mobile.

Geoff Toovey needs to be brought in.

“There needs to be an investigation” into how a Government broadcaster can on sell one of the worlds key sporting events to a rich bit player who can’t service Australians wanting to watch the games.

What a joke. SBS executives (and the Minister if he approved it) should be immediately sacked and forced to watch endless repeats of Inspector Rex (without the good Detective Brandtner episodes) for the remainder of the World Cup.

Not bad 0-0 at half time. Was expecting us to be 1 or 2 - 0 down at this point

Is everyone's eyes painted on? It may have still been a penalty, but whatsisface clearly touched that ball that lead to France's first goal.
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

Actually, all jokes aside they probably would have.

Credit to the NRL in how they’ve set up the bunker. Done it properly. Still got some idiot humans at the wheel occasionally, but our AI overlords will replace them soon enough...
