Raining here, sitting back with cold beer listening to the Oils.

Gunbarrel Highway from Diesel and Dust.

I'll give you something to write home about
and I'll take you somewhere, show you around
we burnt all the cars that layed down and died
we burnt all the trees to keep us alive

sat round the fire, sang like a choir
with the ashes of civilisation in our our eyes

I come alive, I read the signs on the Gunbarrel Highway.

far off a dull radio beats for the young uninvolved
the meanings a football
a stick and a can and a Kakadu man
will the speaker speak up or the talker talk down
the world is no oyster and here in this town
**** falls like rain in a world that is brown

I come alive, I read the signs on the Gunbarrel Highway.

nothing could be longer than a corrugated road
no one ever follows where the road trains go
and no where in the country do the dust storms blow so hard
so hard...

I come alive, I read the signs on the Gunbarrel Highway...

Tix on sale Feb 27 for Hope Estate.

Oils tshirt and Raiders cap ready to go...

I saw the Oils at Selinas on Thursday night, bloody amazing. I've seen them maybe a dozen times and this was the best gig I've seen them do. 29 songs, 2 1/2 set, played all but one song off Head Injuries! Image

RIP Chris Cornell.

Didn't know the man but always loved his company.... whether solo, with Soundgarden or Audioslave.
Will be so sadly missed.
