Really hard to not consider AC/DC in best Australian song.

Come said the boy
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Becoming a bit of a joke now, I remember when they came to epic on the stiff upper lip tour and brought all the props like the massive blow up Rosie and the bell and cannon. Never seen anything like it.

They were on tv this morning and my 19 year old walked in and suggested that when your guitarist has dementia and your drummer appears totally fried on meth it's probably time to give it away.

His performance of 'Rip Rip Woodchip' at the 1989 GF is one of my vivid memories of that day.

Tried to make a really short list but I just can't, would probably come from this lot for mine

The Ship Song - Nick Cave
Throw your arms around me - Hunters and Collectors
Don't Dream It's Over - Crowded House
I was only 19 - Redgum
And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda - Eric Bogle
To Her Door - Paul Kelly
Berlin Chair - You Am I

I think Gotye's big singled and One Crowded Hour will be remembered fondly in the future too.
well, I guess you could say that I'm buy curious.

I agree, which I think is a shame, as I think his earlier song Heart's a Mess is better

Feel free to call me RickyRicky StickStick if you like. I will also accept Super Fui, King Brad, Kid Dynamite, Chocolate-Thunda... or Brad.

Well I sort of consider Heart's a Mess and Somebody That I Used To Know as his big singles. #8 and #1 in the Hottest 100.

I realise De Backer is not everyone's cup of tea but there is just absolutely no denying the success of Like Drawing Blood and Making Mirrors.

I think his second album as Gotye is one of the most groundbreaking Australian releases of my generation. He owes a lot to The Avalanches that paved the way and probably hold that moniker with Since I Left You.
well, I guess you could say that I'm buy curious.

Never could bring myself to like something that sounded like a 3 year old composed it, but to each his own. Obviously I'm in the minority given he is fairly popular

If you're in the minority for not liking them what does it make me whose never heard of em
