I saw a historical show on the weekend. I can't remember the name of it, but it was set a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

This continues to be an incredibly interesting show. Follows the Menzies/Churchill doco on ABC... Very good all round.

Shameless is the best tv series I have been exposed to for many a year.

Having seen this from start to finish... what an amazing series it was. Fantastic stuff... people think history is boring... but this certainly was not.

Are they putting up for view on the 24 website?

The time they broadcast it here on Global TV is not convenient for me :(

As I read yesterday, Prison Break was originally only supposed to be a mini-series, so fans should be thankful that it has gone so long.

Episode 17 of the 4th season is due to run in the US from mid April, and the producers may extend the season past what is currently planned (presumably 22 or 24 episodes) so that they can bring closure to everything neatly.

Yea it was spose to be 2 seasons only i read, and tbh, they probably should have ended it at the 2nd season, but season 3 and 4 have been good enough (not as good as the original 2) to get by... im glad they are allowing them to finish the series off and closing everything off. Should be interesting to see what they do to end it. Looking forward to it :D

Yep, I thought the episode on last night was pretty good though... one of his last. They're doing about 4 or so specials this year before Tennant moves on, then in 2010 they start doing it properly again with the new guy.

The next Doctor was announced a week or so ago, it's some unknown by the name of Matt Smith.

EDIT: Pic:

Personally I much prefer Tennant

If Matt Smith does as good as of a job as he does in footy than he should be quite a Doctor ;)

I own it, got it shipped in from the US when they weren't selling it here. Went out and bought season 2 from JB yesterday, season one is mildly funny but it takes until about mid-season for it to get funnier.

The first half of the first season Tina Fey was juggling 30 Rock with SNL, but it really gets funny midway through season 2... there was an ep called Ludachristmas, I was in hysterics. :P

The show is fantastic, but the worst eps are in the beginning... it hasn't won the Emmy for outstanding comedy 2-3 times for nothing. Its a certain type of comedy though... some people either just don't get it or don't find it funny.

Except for House it's my current favorite show.

First episode of Wipeout Australia was on last night. Was better than i expected actually, not sure about James Brayshaw as a commentator. Was constantly switching over between that and Bondi Rescue.

Mentioned this in another thread, thought I'd post it here as well as it's relatively noteworthy:
Sterlk wrote:While we're on the topic of the Simpsons; after almost 20 years they've finally changed the opening 'around Springfield' sequence (permanently) for the first Simpsons episode broadcast in HD.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZGz1Ajg7QU

The first minute is the new sequence, after that it's just a long couch gag.

EDIT:
Note that Bart's chalkboard gag is "HDTV is worth every cent" and that you can clearly make out Maggie's "price" on the cash register.

The actual episode's not too bad, but not all that great. I'd have thought they'd push the envelope for their first HD experience, use it as a showcase of the sort of things they can do with the better resolution, but instead they've just opted for the crisper images.
