Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

Pell to stand trial on a couple of charges, others were dropped as not enough evidence for a possible conviction.

Trump has now admitted to funding the payment to Stormy.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders thrown under the bus again.

If anyone dares say "oh Hillary would have been just as bad" - No. Absolutely Not. Would have been far far better.

This is the base that were totally cool with Roy Moore running.

Also can we stop trying to give Credit for Trump getting North Korea to "stop" their testing.

They are only stopping because they blew up their own test site and possibly killed many of their top researchers in doing so.. So now he'll play them, possibly get some sanctions lifted and get the funds to relaunch (boom tish) their program.

My prediction for their next move is to release some of the Americans that are being held there.. They'll play to Trump's ego and say it was all his doing. Then the daft ***** will have a meeting in the DMZ giving them the photo ops they've wanted for decades.

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

True, but in this case somewhat rational?

If we’re saying Trump is definitely worse than Hillary because of this... well in what material sense to voters? I mean nothing changed in terms of his character. Everyone knows what Trump is about.

They think Hillary is corrupt and would be lining big business pockets. They think Trump is making changes that help the battlers - like the trade war stuff. When that’s what they care about, if he lies about who he pays and sleeps with on his on time...

It was what I thought was a very restrained reflection on previous comments from GEM on the need to relax legal restrictions on intra-family relationships of a sexual nature.

Just on australian politics and the tax plans from both parties.

Congratulations on the coalition of all thing good and light and business trying to iron out the brackets and move to a more equal tax system as opposed to a progressive (oppressive system) we are currently in.

However, they failed on some major points:-
- the changes are to far out in the future to be of any use.
- they should have been immediately bought in (or atleast mentioned for next election to be bought in immediately after that) up the GST to 30% (maybe this could be scaled) and put it on everything, make the tax rate a flat 30%, up the tax free amount from 20k to 30k to provide lower incomes with relief from increase in GST. Eitherway I call it the 30 30 30 rule, like a triple russell westbrook.
- Get rid of their ill advised company tax rates, its just a stupid tax cut.
- get rid of your notional political lower income tax rebate garbage, people in those brackets are hardly kicking anything in anyways.

Now for Labor.

- Congratulations for staying strong on opposing company tax rate cuts.
- you have doubled down on tax cuts to lower and middle income earners, good on you for trying to win an election, shame on you for garbage economic policy.
- you keep rabbiting on about spending on education and health, keep doing that, it will keep you out of power as anybody who is not working in those areas, only here the words more debt more debt more debt.
- I never expected any tax reform from your party, you are a party that is now controlled by the unions and couldn't count to three dollars unless it was in a brown paper bag for you, but I would expect you to take GEMs lead and announce the legalisation and taxation of marijuana. Unfortunately, it is probably another social / tax policy like say gay marriage that could be done easier by your party that through your own ineptitude will be done by the coalition.

Same could be said about all federal politics over the past 10 years. Both majors have been hopeless and the balance of power in the senate has shifted to the more extreme offshoots of the left and right.
