Re: The Politics Thread
Controversial conservative senator Cory Bernadi has been accused by one of his colleagues of having an "obsession" with gay people.
"He's obviously got an obsession with people that are gay," Mr Entsch told Fairfax. "It worries me. "You've really got to watch out for those that have these obsessions. He who protests the loudest..."

Re: The Politics Thread
Damn it seems Bernardi doesn't use twitter any more
I wanted him to reply and get into a conversation with me.

Re: The Politics Thread
Apparently CBD is effective at treating certain people with epilepsy. In the docuementary series Weed Country one of the strory lines if related to a non-responsive epileptic child who was having dozens of seizures every week. One of the medicinal cannabis growers developed an isolated CBD tincture which had astounding results.Manbush wrote:Wow not all Queensland politicians are backwards

I think Cannabis like many pharmaceuticals won't work for everyone or the side effects will be worse than the affliction being treated but there is enough evidence to justify a strict medicinal trial in Australia.
Re: The Politics Thread
And I agree, it's funny Qld started adding it when a lot of the world started removing it, once again Qld being behind the times.Toviii wrote:The same guy wanted to take fluoride out of the water :doubt

Re: The Politics Thread
Yeah, take all the Queenslanders out of the Australian team and you'd have a real battle with England for the second ranked team. (Third ranked if Queensland became a nation)Green eyed Mick wrote:Yes please. What an idiot. Does he know the amount of planning and scrutiny that goes into therapeutic trials. The government doesn't just announce "it's doing a trial". What a **** ****.

Re: The Politics Thread
What are your thoughts on fluroide, Dr Z??
Re: The Politics Thread
Fluoride is second only to vaccination as our greatest ever public health initiative. The fact that it took Queensland 30 years longer than the civilised world to implement a program, a program that they are now trying to dismantle to penny pinch indicates how backward a state it is.

haha i was thinking that myself, fluoride has proven itself to have been an exceptionally successful public health policy, has saved christ knows how much money... what is **** wrong with QLD that it took them 30 years to get on board?

Re: The Politics Thread
Fun fact, Lithgow only implemented fluoride into their drinking water last year (year before?). Says A LOT about Lithgow, can't we just ship it QLD where it belongs?Dr Zaius wrote:Fluoride is second only to vaccination as our greatest ever public health initiative. I wouldn't dispute it being classified as a part of Queensland. Is Australia's testing going to find other results than other countries? It's one of the worlds oldest medicines with proven medicinal uses and I'm guessing less negative side effects than 90% (being generous) of what you'd prescribe on a daily basis.Dr Zaius wrote:You're an idiotManbush wrote:Why even bother with a trial, it's already available medicinally around the world.Dr Zaius wrote:What an idiot.
