Space Exploration / Space Colonisation Thread

Theres 141 **** pages of religous waffle and not one **** decent thread on space (the one thing any true atheist extremist would talk about). Recently the Director General of the ESA has announced that he intends on building a base on the moon. Very interesting the prospect of building a moon base, no doubt it is a much better decision than to go straight for a base on mars, after all its not 3 months away.

Are they still going through with that mission to Mars where they were looking for volunteers? I remember Gary Busey originally volunteered so would be a bizarre trip with him on board.

It will be the only guarantee of human survival, regardless of climate change the earth is ****, for man to survive we will have to spread throughout the galaxy like the virus we are.

Yeah, apparently in five or so billion years. I hope we're all over bases on Mars by then!

Haha yes it could be a long way away or it could be sooner by climate change, meteorites, war, over population etc, billions of years is best case scenario but highly doubtful last that long as many other things could end it.

Hope we've left the solar system by then. Mars is equally rooted in 5 billion years Image

I dont believe so, I havent heard anything about it of late but it was a fad in itself anyway. So much has to be developed to do such a mission and it would be so much easier and cheaper to go through a trial on the moon first.

Absolutely me too.

Absolutely a large impact could be devastating to earth yet again and it could happen at any time. Not enough is done to research prevention of this.

I dream of the day we can colonise worlds, I have to accept that it is not going to happen in my lifetime and possibly not even in my childrens lifetime. However if the opportunity came up I would 100% be in the first people to go.
