Everything in Alice Springs costs twice as much as what it does in Canberra. I blew a tyre the other day and a new one fitted was $240 for a basic. Apples are twice as much. I'm renting at the moment and a 3 bedroom house near to the city is $550 a week. Give me a break!

I'd hate to think how much tyres for my car cost in Alice Springs, then, or if I can even get them! $470 a tyre in Sydney
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

I'm getting the same mail as the Doc. On a tight leash with the Mrs, though - gotta keep it trimmed at no longer than a number two.

I end up with decent stubble after 3 days, I like growing a beard but it annoys me after a week or so

Gold rims? Nah - it's called "Run flat tyres". Good idea, but in practice outside of the US and Europe, is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

I've just ordered "A Million Ways to die in the West" on Fox, I've watched 10 minutes and I'm already regretting it. Isn't Seth Macfarlane supposed to be funny? Is the guy who made this film really the same guy who created Family Guy? It should have come with an advisory.

Haha. I've been over this before on this forum. I find older blokes being outraged at anything that's not short back and sides and clean shaven absolutely hilarious.

I'm actually a big Bon Iver fan  He was the first hipstery sort of artist that popped into my head (though you may disagree).

Never had an almond milk latte, however.

Family Guy is the best animated series since The Flintstones. In fact, I think it is the best ever TV animated series. But that movie was just a bit sad.

I tried to buy the Grand Final Big League today. I missed getting to the newsagent on Thursday, and when I went in last night, they'd sold out. I went to every newsagent today in South Canberra, and they had sold out EVERYWHERE! I now will have a hole in my collection of Grand Final programs. There were huge stacks of unsold AFL Grand Final programs in every single newsagent a week afterwards, but not a Big League to be had. Very annoying.

Shouldn't Big League send out a whole lot more programs in Grand Final week?!

If you ever find yourself fighting in a war, instead of throwing a grenade at your enemy, throw a smiley face stress ball.

Maybe this will make him think about the stupidity of war, and allow him to ponder about what he's doing.

Then, while he's thinking about that, throw a grenade at him.

Grasshopper, an inelegant but effective solution: whilst the remainder is still structurally sound, lift it free from the kebab sleeve, letting the dripping do it's thing (into the "cup" formed by the kebab removal) and abate. Then, take the remaining portion bottom-first into the mouth and chow down. Assessing the point at which this is possible without choking is the key.

Men who grow beards out of laziness is fine.

Men who grow beards and then preen them to try and fail at attracting woman, is a bit of a laugh imo. FTR I am 30, I am not sure where that places me on the older man scale.
