John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

Voting Open! TheGH Music tournament finalists

Post by Fuifui Bradbrad » November 22, 2017, 1:49 pm

At the moment, voting looks like this

5 ACDC
4 David Bowie
3 Oasis
2 Cold Chisel
2 Live
2 Powderfinger
2 Prince
2 The Killers
2 You Am I
1 Blink 182
1 Bon Jovi
1 Bruce Springsteen
1 Crowded House
1 Ed Sheeran
1 Lenny Kravitz
1 Madonna
1 REM
1 Silverchair
1 The Doors
1 The White Stripes
1 Thin Lizzy
1 Tina Turner
1 Whitlams
0 30 Seconds to Mars
0 Angus and Julia Stone
0 Bananarama
0 Belinda Carlisle
0 Billie Holiday
0 Billy Idol
0 Bob Dylan
0 Boy and Bear
0 Chet Baker
0 Diana Ross and the Supremes
0 Dire Straits
0 Elliott Smith
0 Gotye
0 James Reyne
0 John Farnham
0 Kiss
0 Marvin Gaye
0 Neil young
0 Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds
0 Paolo Nutini
0 Peter Andre
0 Queens of the Stone Age
0 Robbie Williams
0 Screaming Jets
0 Sherbet
0 Simon and Garfunkel
0 Sonic Youth
0 The Police
0 Vance Joy
0 Violent Soho

So we're going for a 64 band comp. Otherwise there'll be riots in the forum if we cull the ones that have received votes.
I'm liking the current process of everyone posting their votes instead of using the voting button. I have a spreadsheet going tracking the results, so posting them makes it easier for me if you can
Feel free to call me RickyRicky StickStick if you like. I will also accept Super Fui, King Brad, Kid Dynamite, Chocolate-Thunda... or Brad.

I’ll make it the next one.
Thinking how to do the tournament. I can either

A. Send out band vs band threads every day. 64 bands would mean the tournament would take nearly 2 months.

B. I do it round by round via Survey Monkey. So round of 64 week 1. 32 week 2 etc. Would mean I can manage it in 1 thread instead of 60 odd threads.

I’m leaning towards B. Can get done quicker and can do Australian tournament afterwards

Just listening to Born in the USA, Bruce Springsteen. Critics would say this is not his best album, but it is certainly his biggest. What a great album. Put him in the finals!

I’ve really been into Cover Me lately. It was a song I hadn’t heard until recently, now it’s getting hammered daily on my Spotify.

I think I know what to get you for the The GH Kris Kringle this year

Here’s an insight into how Chris Isaac creates a video clip for his latest single.

Video Director: “So Chris what do you think would suit the song style and lyrics”?

Chris: “How about we get a half naked, gorgeous model and I roll around in bed or on the beach with her”.

Video Director: “Great idea, lets do it”.

Not a lot of diversity in music genres. Probably should've had Bob Marley, Eminem and Johnny Cash in there
