Sorry bonehead... but I can't put up on The GH Twitter etc... here's a pic of my cat sitting at a coffee bar.

But the bottom line is... we put out maybe 30 to 45 tweets per day... and tweets to the site columns are regularly the top ten performed tweets every week.

Need to diversify the GH twitter to get more content.

I'll happily take up TR's offer for me to have a 24 guest stint running the account.

It's hard to not laugh when you say they are the most clicked but they're the only regular bit promoted

Sounds like you need someone who runs on a different timezone to send some tweets on the midnight shift....

Woah woah woah, I just realised.... this is a direct attack against me! I posted that on your behalf GE! Thought I'd save you some time and then here you go putting it down like its rubbish content and you still haven't signed it off.

Do you know how many cat gifs and pics I looked at before I chose it. I couldn't do my standard "feeling lucky" approach If I was going to be posting on behalf of the boss, I needed some high quality ****. All that work and this is the thanks... I'm starting to think raidersfam might be on to something, you guys ARE bullies.

PS: You'd be surprised the kind of action a gif like that can pull in.

PPS: Or maybe you wouldn't - I noticed a castle meme tweeted just last night.. guess it's just my stuff then.

I emailed The Greenhouse to ask for more "Haikus with Gangers" and they said that Twitter chooses which segments are shown on Free to Twitter. But they assured me that in the next couple of years when the contract gets renegotiated they're sure Haikus with Gangers will get more air time.

I'm not convinced. I have it on good authority that someone high up in the mods would rather see Haikus with Gangers "wither on the vine".

It's not such a silly point to make. We put up maybe an average of 25 tweets per day with links to the site on the main GH Twitter feed. That's a lot of material being linked. The three or four tweets re the columns are consistently top ten for owly click throughs every week.

If people want to write a Canberra Raiders column, we'd promote those too. The only reason I'm writing the game preview and a Through green eyes and As I saw it every week is that we lost the Hooter and the person who was doing game reviews and no one else has put their hand up, apart from Matt.

I put out the invitation in every Through Green Eyes column... If you want to write a column, contact me. I'd love to have more people writing and producing content we could promote.

The weekly segment BJ's Moley Mole of the Week is the most liked by the actual Mole of all the segment tweets! He hasn't liked a single one that wasn't about himself!
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

That's like the true story of Charlie Chaplain finding out that Adolf Hitler had really enjoyed The Great Dictator.

Although I shouldn't compare the two as it is very unfair.

Hitler actually did do some good things early in his career such as setting up Volkswagen and the autobahn system ImageImageImageImage

2016 Finals Wk 1 V Sharks: Ploder or Not

Canberra Raiders V Cronulla Sharks
Tickets: All gone!

Yup - it's finals time! In the Top 4 - there's not going to be many ploders. At least amongst the players. And as usual, it's the vibe of the thing.

Canberra Raiders

1. Jack Wighton 2. Edrick Lee 3. Jarrod Croker 4. Joseph Leilua 5. Jordan Rapana 6. Sam Williams 7. Aidan Sezer 8. Junior Paulo 9. Josh Hodgson 10. Shannon Boyd 11. Josh Papalii 12. Elliot Whitehead 13. Iosia Soliola

14. Kurt Baptiste 15. Luke Bateman 16. Clay Priest 17. Joseph Tapine 18. Paul Vaughan

Cronulla Sharks

1. Ben Barba 2. Sosaia Feki 3. Jack Bird 4. Ricky Leutele 5. Valentine Holmes 6. James Maloney 7. Chad Townsend 8. Andrew Fifita 9. Michael Ennis 10. Matt Prior 11. Luke Lewis 12. Wade Graham 13. Paul Gallen

14. Gerard Beale 15. Chris Heighington 16. Jesse Sene-Lefao 17. Jayson Bukuya 18. Kurt Capewell

Officials:

TBA

So - Sharks 1 vs Raiders 0 on the ploder count. Pretty fair given it's #2 vs #3. Form lines would suggest the Raiders will get this easily, but finals are a new competition! Take it one game at a time, the 1%ers will lead to glory.

Also, I find this TBA to be pretty suspicious. What's going on with that? Are they Queensland refs?
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

^ this is what I actually came in here to say. Pigman has been writing "Pigman is a ****" now for at least a full season and it takes genuine time and effort to write these columns. It's a humorous look at the weekend's game from a different perspective, much like the Hooter was, and it actually DOES provide football content as well as promote discussion.

So how DOESN'T it qualify as a column?? Just because one mod decides he doesn't like it? Pretty crappy system if you ask me

How many metric tears is a gallen! Absolutely classic! This has made my day! Thanks gangers, if I was on Twitter I would be sharing the **** out of that!

Realistically the only way to test the popularity of segments on the socials would be to give them a test run!

The football brains have dried up, not that there's much to dissect these days but i don't bother anymore. About all you get is vaughan's play the ball is 1/4sec too slow, wighton is a centre blah blah blah

It doesn't worry me. It's pretty clear GE doesn't promote other segments because he doesn't want to upset his golden child. That's ok. The people continue to vote with their fingers

I don't know why they wrote The Hooter out of the story, though. I miss that guy.

I hear they were freeing up salary to bring back the bay56 character.

Which in turn means they had to pay the TR character more money for his increased workload

It's actually been a gradual evolution of the character over the last couple of seasons.

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.
