Since Nickman is having a massive sook about his moderately **** segment being bounced to the line lounge for being completely unrelated to football or anything else for that matter I have decided to fill the void with a new segment.

I have to agree. This... this is probably my favourite segment of all time.

The biggest problem we have with Sammy coming in instead of Austin is that Sammy hardly ever takes on the line.

Nope, it's defence. Teams are going to run big men at Sammy as well as have him make difficult reads in defence. This is where he'll need to step his game up, and I'm sure this is what Ricky will be getting him to focus on. Not worried at all about our ability to get upfield and score points with him in the team - this is where he's naturally gifted and I think fits well with the way we play - I just hope he holds his own in defence.

Would he maybe defend on the wing?

He can defend the same way Austin does
He usually starts out wider and makes his way in field the closer to the red zone and tackle 5 the opposition get

Neither Austin or Williams are great defenders but my view is they are bad in different ways. Austin is a decent defender when he reads the play well, he's got enough physicality to hit and stick. His problem is he sometimes completely misreads

Williams actually reads the play reasonably well, it's just he doesn't have the size of strength to hold up. He can make 1 on 1 tackles but too often he falls off or makes an ineffective tackle which results in a try or offload

We'll need Sam to really fire up and put his body into this next month or so of footy. And we'll need whitehead and Beej to be right on their game and make sure they bust their **** to help Sam out without exposing themselves

The more I think about it, the more I think we'll be ok with Austin out for the short term, although I really do hope he's back by the Prelims!

Absolutely he needs to be back by the prelims! We need to be on our game - anyone that makes the prelims will also be!

I'm thinking of starting up a new segment called 'Seize-a-Sezer!'
It's basically a shameless ripoff of Pluck-a-Duck' and 'Crack-a-Fatty'.
A contestant will spin a wheel, we all ignore whatever it lands on then we move on to the next stage where the contestant will select a picture or Aidan Sezer for a grand prize!
It'll be the final nail in turning this thread into a variety show.
