Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

Just in up to my knees though, I'm afraid of sharks.

Advice: don't get pet rats. They're actually a lot of fun and very loyal and smart but they need constant attention and cost about as much in vet fees as cats but only live about 2 years.

I'm afraid of rats..and mice. They freak me out. I can't touch them. Being the man of the house I've always had the job of getting rid of a dead mouse which has had its head squashed in a trap. A lot of years ago when I was much younger my wife and I where driving home from Wollongong. We had our Border Collie in the back of our Kingswood station wagon. Anyway this cop..who was obviously bored and chasing his quota pulled me over and wrote me a ticket for a tow ball obscuring my rear licence plate.
The rear window was down about 3-4 inches because as a pet owner I had to give Ralph fresh air. So this cop puts his hand in the back window to give Ralph a pat and the dog nipped him..hard.
He came back around to the drivers side and gave me the ticket. My missus says to the policeman " thanks for the ticket officer, I'd be putting some ice on that, enjoy the rest of your day" ha.
Anyone else got a policeman story ? I've got a few...

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

A couple of months ago I mentioned I'd been called up for jury duty.
Well today I got notification it has been canned..for the 3rd time.
I haven't been yet...
This all started with a summons to attend court back in early March..
8 weeks..3 cancellations.
