The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

We have this one guy in our team who has a stock phrase when you ask him how he is, "Living the dream mate. Living the dream"
In a meeting today, one of our leaders jokingly called him out on it, and how he needs to find a new response.

It got me thinking, what's your stock phrase? I'm told I have 3
"Ready to jet?" when I'm ready to leave.
"It's poetry in motion" when things are going to plan
"Too easy" This annoys Mrs Fui, especially if I say it to a tradie. She doesn't like the idea of someone busting their butt doing hard labour, only for some numpty to say "Sweet, too easy" to them

I've grown a liking to "They've only b****y gone and done it" and trying to add it to my vocabulary
Feel free to call me RickyRicky StickStick if you like. I will also accept Super Fui, King Brad, Kid Dynamite, Chocolate-Thunda... or Brad.

I have a few but my favourite would have to be "that's why you're on the big bucks mate" whenever a colleague is complaining about someone or something. It's most effective when it's someone on about the same salary as me.

P-Platers are the best Tim..

When you're sitting at the lights next to a young fella and his main goal is to beat you off the mark and speed off into the distance and eventually out of sight..

Only to pull up next to him at the next red light and give him a smile..

MrsPJ hates when I do this but..I motion to the young fella to wind down his window and if he does(some do) I let him know he's in the top 3 knobjockeys walking the planet..

Ive let a PPlater know his rear left tyre is flat and needs looking at..

Who is it on here that like to smoke meat?

I’m looking at getting a bullet smoker to have a play around with while I’m off work, looking for some tips.

I’ve been doing slow cooked meat for a bit now. You have to keep at it. Your first cook it really about getting to know the smoker, temperatures etc.

I’d also recommend getting an igrill thermometer. It makes your life easier

Yeah I use charcoal and wood chunks. If you get the bigger chunks, you only need a block.

Mrs Fui thinks it’s controversial, but I’m anti-wetting the wood. The way I was taught, the smoking process is to dry out the meat, so if you wet the wood chips, you’re putting moisture back into the process

Hmmm- the bullet style smoker uses a water bowl to moderate heat and keep constant moisture ....
