I had imagined that the people of Canberra might be too sensible for this. But no, the local Supabarn shelves were almost stripped bare of it yesterday. Just half a dozen packs of Black and Gold no brand left.
There's none in LakeMac. It's a valuable commodity.

Fast food drive thrus are accepting rolls instead of cash.

1 Big Mac value meal = 3 rolls.

A public toilet was ram raided in Lemon Tree Passage last night..all toilet rolls stolen..truth.
Today, ordinary tissues more than half sold out at Kingston Supabarn... paper towels almost sold out... I just shake my head.

The strange thing is... you do not need any of those products, when it comes down to it. There are countries where you just wash... there are also things called handkerchiefs and cloths, which substitute for tissues and paper towels, you just wash them and use them again.

I would have thought you’d have a staffer designated for cleaning GE?

Seriously though, I don’t get it either. I was in Reject Shop browsing, and saw a kid running around saying “Mum, are the hand sanitizers in this aisle?” The Mum was shooshing the kid.

I mean, the toilet paper and sanitizer are non-existent. Someone’s buying them, why try and hide it?

Am I the only one coming to terms and accepting I’ll most likely get it?

I think everybody will get it. The tactic of self isolation is like pulling the band-aid off slowly and will probably be worse as people may get it more than once.

$6.80.

That's right..$3.40 each..that's outrageous and down right wrong.

Most fast food is a rort

Whenever I get it it's mainly Oporto, which for a large meal is almost $15.

I can remember a cburger cost 70c
And a jnr 60c

McDonalds has always been the family restaurant. Somewhere mum could take the kids on a Friday night after work because she's tired and didn't want to cook..

This treat is now out of a lot of families reach..

I agree Maccas is over priced.
I don't eat fast food anyway, apart from the odd pizza or Chinese meal maybe 4 times a year.

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Yeah the cafe in our estate has a tradie deal where it’s a coffee and a bacon and egg roll for $9. That’s my WFH staple
