If you set up the iphone correctly, and switch off background apps you never need to run in the background, it has very good battery life.

I did all that.

It used to be good then after an update , not the latest , I think it was the one prior it went downhill. Im not sure if that is a coincidence or not but nothing I do fixes it.

Im not the only one that has this issue , there is quite a few across their threads with the same issue.

I've moved to android simply because I can't afford apple anymore.
It's improved heaps in my opinion but I'm still not going to argue passionately for either camp.
Worst thing about android is the bloatware manufacturers put on them. Vanilla android all the way.

Oh... I do like the big screens. I've got declining sight so I enjoy the screen real estate.

To be fair the iPhone nearly sent them all broke. Blackberry, sony, Motorola, windows phone, Nokia

The only survivor was samsung through its hold in places like South Korea and it's blatant ripping off of the design.

Blatant ripping off of design? It goes both ways with the iPhone having stolen plenty of features off android over the years. And it's not like we didn't have hand held devices with icons and apps before the iphone came along. Palm pilots anyone?

Well here's just a few of the patent infringements that have been confirmed by a court, they basically stole the entire concept.

http://www.cnet.com/au/news/apple-v-sam ... scorecard/

When they write the IT history of this period it will be all about ipod's, ipad's and iphones. Samsung and Android will be a footnote.

That patent case was a complete farce. In any court other than the Apple sympathetic US it would have been laughed at. They patented and won of a "rectangular shape" ****

But Android and companies like Samsung and HTC have moved passed that. Apple has stagnated. The other companies are the innovators now and hypocritically, Apple are just copying them.

Hi GE , thanks for picking up, I was just wondering if you could put away your maroon coloured glasses. It's coming up to state of origin season and I don't want to go through thesame painful conversations again.

Typical QLD phone manners.

I deal with plenty of them and they're all the same.

m not going to retry a case contested by the worlds best lawyers and deepest pockets on a rugby league forum but if you read the link and do a bit of research basically everything that makes the modern smart phone what it is today was innovated by Apple.

I don't think you could find one unique innovation introduced by Samsung. They make cheaper, inferior copies. The McDonalds of the phone world.

Begbie... I wrote a complaint to KFC tonight, about their over cooked and dry chicken I bought earlier... And they called me back at 11pm. Do you think it's OK to make phone calls this late at night? They offered me five pieces original chicken free.

I think you can chalk that up as a win mate.

Whenever fruit loops call up with complaints, management always chuck them a few pieces of breast to make them go away.

Keep up the fight uncle.

I told them I didn't want free chicken, I just wanted properly cooked chicken that wasn't dry next time. I will be keeping up the pressure.

But the most important issue is: should they have called that late at night? I don't think so. They should have emailed.

I have to say, the phone thread has become much more interesting. There's some threads you open as a mod, thinking, this is the most boring thread ever... But now Begbie has made the phone thread interesting. People can ring up anyone!
