Nasty storm heading for Belconnen, tracking through the centre of Canberra to Queanbeyan. Large hail stones. Should be here any time now...

Seems to have been a fair few trees down etc: Canberra storm: severe thunderstorm makes its way through the capital: https://www.canberratimes.com.au/story/ ... /?cs=14225

Wasn’t that bad at my place, just south and east of the lake.

Raining again today. I can't remember such a wet, grey winter in Canberra, usually it is blue skies and crisp, even if it is very cold.

I remember 1989 being very wet... but it well might be one of the wettest on record. I can't see sports grounds opening this weekend.

It was the fourth wettest June in Canberra, the wettest was 2016: http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/current/m ... mary.shtml

I don't think it's been that wet in terms of quantity per day, it just seems to rain every 2nd day at the moment.

It's a bit grim and depressing

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Nah, don't think I'm coming down this year. We get enough games in Queensland now that I don't need to put up with that ****.
