Re: Vale Noel Bissett
Sorry to hear. Noel was synonymous with the Canberra local comp.
Re: Vale Noel Bissett
Glad to see there's a thread on this. Noel was an absolute gentleman, who has had a profound impact on the game in our region. Whenever we talked, you could see the passion he had for rugby league. While you could question some of the decisions he made as CRRL chairman, you could never question his motives. Everything he did was for the betterment of the game, and our region will be poorer for his loss.

Vale Noel Bissett: Canberra rugby league loses one of its greatest servants
Tim Gavel
Noel Bissett loved telling the story about the day he refereed a game at Captains Flat. On that day an elderly lady brandishing an umbrella pursued him across the ground. The elderly lady in question was apparently upset with a number of Noel’s rulings that happened to go against the home team.
For Noel, it was part of the fabric of rugby league and he appeared to love every minute of his time in the game.
