68th min Raiders force a line drop. They’re really getting on top now. Big runs from Esera and Clarkson.
TRY RAIDERS to Trey Mooney, close to the posts. Big gap opened. The Bulls put the Raiders Under a lot of pressure either side of first half, but they’ve run out of steam. Souter converts.

MATCH REPORT: Canberra Raiders 20s swamp gutsy Gungahlin Bulls in the wet
Canberra Raiders under-20s halfback Reece Piepers had to come off due to hypothermia from playing in the Nicholls International Swamp on Saturday, a 28-8 victory for the young Green Machine.
"Sila [Titiuti] got a couple and Trey [Mooney] might've got a couple [of tries] as well. But I thought both of those two took the game by the scruff of the neck and played really hard and direct through the middle there," Raiders 20s coach Ash Barnes said.

MATCH REPORT: Queanbeyan Blues steal the win in the wet against Woden Valley Rams
The Queanbeyan Blues defeated the Woden Valley Rams 18 – 14 in a wet and physical clash at Phillip Oval today. The game went down to the wire as the Rams looked like scoring in the final minutes, but the defence of the 2019 premiers was too good for the home team.

I walked across the ground after the match. There was at least an inch of water to the top of the surface.
Well done to both teams to play in those conditions.

Re: 2020 CRRL Cup
Yeah what you can take from it is our forwards that I have been talking up have a bit of heart. Opposition was nothing special but I thought Mooney, Clarkson, Esera were really good coming into the side as 18 year olds. Mooney and Esera especially the opposition take a backward step when they run at them.
I thought our best was another forward Sila Tituiti, just led from the front all day.
Disappointment of the day was Jordan Martin hurting his knee. Could be pretty bad sadly. I know there are a few on here that really rate him.
Re: 2020 CRRL Cup
I think you will find that one was 15 not 13 - Keaton Meads. But yes it was very tough to see. Was very dark by then too.The Greenhouse wrote: ↑August 8, 2020, 4:26 pm 64th min TRY RAIDERS, we believe it’s Trey Mooney. Almost impossible to see numbers anymore. Souter converts from in front.

Trey Mooney out of NRL bubble and keen to impress for Raiders Under-20s
He's had a taste of the NRL bubble, and now Trey Mooney wants more. But until then, the Raiders' newest schoolboy star will ply his trade for the Raiders' under-20s in the local competition.
"It was good to be around those type of people and gain that sort of experience. It was basically the same thing, training, home, training, home. You're not so much playing footy, but you're learning off the best."

Re: 2020 CRRL Cup
Not a particularly good game from the Raiders to be honest. We scored early a couple of times including Esera barging over looking bigger than everyone but after that we were very scrappy, dropped a lot of ball. It was only a great run by Kaho in the second half that set up our only try after half time.
I thought Tom Robertson was really good for Woden. He was to play Mounties this year. Was surprised they started him off the bench but he gave a real impact when he came on. I hope he is still in our plans, I reckon he can continue to develop.

Canberra Raiders under-20s tempt injury fate in hard-fought win over Woden Valley Rams
It's as if the Canberra Raiders under-20s were tempting fate by starting with only two on the bench. That became one when five-eighth Reece Piepers was carried off with an ankle injury.
But the silver lining was Matthew Fellows put a tough run with injuries behind him to score two tries in the hard-fought 20-8 victory over the Woden Valley Rams at Phillip on Saturday.

Interesting they've farmed out Gordon Whippy and Josh Thompson to see how they go with more minutes and play under fatigue. Piepers in a moon boot after the game, with his ankle, but hoping to play next week.

Re: 2020 CRRL Cup
Adrian Trevilyan to get his debut in green. Must have recently arrived from North Queensland.
Assume that Jordan Williams starts at half and Keaton Walkington-Meads or Jayden Clarkson start at prop.

Always have time for Gordon. Huge fan of his old man and his ice creamgreeneyed wrote:Interesting they've farmed out Gordon Whippy and Josh Thompson to see how they go with more minutes and play under fatigue. Piepers in a moon boot after the game, with his ankle, but hoping to play next week.
