Post by FuiFui BradBrad »

Just saw on FB that we signed Toby Westcott. Any thoughts on how he went?

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

Still Under 20s maybe? He's a half... Blore was the standout when I saw the Panthers NYC last year...

2015: Westcott signs with Panthers: CYMS junior moves from Norths Harold Matthews to Penrith Panthers on three year deal: https://www.centralwesterndaily.com.au/ ... s-to-west/

2016: Toby Westcott picked in the Australian under-17 Trans-Tasman Youth squad: https://www.centralwesterndaily.com.au/ ... -and-grow/

2017: NYC Panthers repel Raiders: https://www.penrithpanthers.com.au/news ... l-raiders/

2017: He wasn't in the top 17 in the final round of the NYC last year: https://www.penrithpanthers.com.au/news ... -round-26/

We do seem to be signing a lot of halves on spec.

Played Harold Matts and 2 years of SG ball with Penrith. Partnered Blore against us late last year after he finished SG Ball season. A strong organiser with great kicking game and being Patrician Brothers GIO Cup 7 Last year I am sure he will go well. Only young with another year in 20’s.
Update. A mate on staff at Penrith said this kid is the real deal. Not the super fancy half but rock solid and old school. One of the best kicking games in the comp and has gone under the radar. Played NSW cup against the Roosters earlier in the year and was really solid. Long term prospect for us I hope. In particular a half that can compete sets and build pressure!

Did anyone see the Belconnen game? I heard he was very good and made a big difference to the Sharks. Hopefully he is a young but mature player who can steer a side around

I see he is starting in the squad this week for 20’s. How did he go last week in Ohagans shoes against the Bulldogs?

I thought he had a good game. Scored a good try and organised well.
