53rd min The Bears push the Raiders over the sideline in almost a rugby union maul... and it flares up. Mounties have produced a lot of driving tackles as well. Got to give it to the Mounties coaches, this is an Under 20s team with unusually good defence. Bears scrum feed in the red zone.
Re: 2018 Mounties
56th min TRY BEARS in the corner, Mounties can’t hold on in that situation. Tyrone Taukomo just able to plant it after he looked covered. Kieran Hayman converts from the sideline again.

2017 NSW Premiership Round 8: Mounties preview
Mounties V Wyong Roos
Saturday 28 April
Morry Breen Oval
NSW Premiership 3.00pm
In the NSW Premiership this week, Mounties line up against Sydney Roosters affiliate, the Wyong Roos at Morry Breen Oval on Saturday afternoon, while the Mounties Jersey Flegg team face the Roosters in the curtain raiser.
NSW Premiership: Mounties produced a good 22-18 win over the North Sydney Bears at Central Coast Stadium in Round 7 last Saturday. The Mounties opened strongly, with tries to Mikaele Ravalawa, Ed Murphy and Henry Raiwalui giving the visitors a 16-0 lead after 20 minutes - and a 16-6 lead at half time. The Bears - featuring the likes of Robbie Farah and Adam Doueihi - came back in the second half. A Billy Brittain try in the 56th minute reduced Mounties lead to just four. Mounties hit straight back with a four pointer to debutant Corey Horsburgh in the 60th minute, before a Ky Rodwell try for the Bears in the 65th minute set up a 22-18 score line - and a frantic final quarter hour. Mounties repelled everything North Sydney threw at them, with desperate defence in the final stages just holding the Bears at bay.
Mounties go into this match with a share of the lead on the competition ladder - with the Wests Magpies. On points differential, they are placed second. This week's opponents the Roos are in 11th place, with two wins and five losses so far this season.
The Roos are on a four game losing streak, beating the first placed Magpies, 23-22, in their last victory in Round 3. They were defeated 32-16 by the Blacktown Sea Eagles in their most recent outing. Mounties have a WLWLW record in their past five matches. Mounties have the superior attacking and defensive record. Mounties have averaged 26 points scored per match (the Roos 18), while they concede 20 points per match (the Roos 29). The Bears have a negative points differential of 77.
Team changes: For Mounties, Tony Satini and Alofi Mataele make up a new centre pairing, with Ed Murphy moving into the second row in place of Liam Knight. Tyler Cornish has been named at five eighth, after making a late shift to that role last week. Charlie Gubb has been named at prop, after successfully returning from injury in that position against the Bears. Emre Guler moves to lock, with Makahesi Makatoa starting at prop. Kalani Going has been added to the bench, after he played Canberra Raiders Cup last weekend. It looks like Michael Oldfield and Liam Knight will travel to Townsville with the Raiders' top squad, as they've not been named for Mounties. Jack Murchie and Brad Abbey have been included in both Raiders top 21 and the Mounties team.
The Roos have named the same top 17 that took the field last weekend against the Sea Eagles. The Wyong team includes former Raiders Mitch Cornish at half and Reece Robinson on the wing. Former Raiders Frank-Paul Nuuausala and Kurt Baptiste could be late inclusions, after being omitted from the Roosters' top squad for their Anzac Day clash against the Dragons. Reece Robinson is certain to take his place, as he was also not required by the Roosters NRL team. Sitili Tupouniua could also be available for the Roos.
Our tip: The Roos will have the home ground advantage - and could benefit from those late inclusions. However, everything else points to the Mounties being too strong in this one.
Jersey Flegg: The Mounties Under 20s were upset by the North Sydney Bears, 26-12, at North Sydney Oval last Sunday afternoon. Mounties dominated the first half, and were unlucky to go to the break with just a 12-0 lead. However, the momentum shifted markedly in the second half, with the Bears receiving a huge share of penalties and possession.
Mounties are in third place on the ladder, with a 5 and 2 record so far this season. They are now three competition points adrift of the ladder leading Cronulla Sharks. Their opposition this week, the Roosters, are sixth on the ladder, with just one less win than Mounties. The outfit from Sydney's eastern suburbs was on a four game winning streak, before falling to the Manly Sea Eagles, 34-10, last weekend.
The Roosters have a better attacking record than Mounties, averaging 27 points scored per match (Mounties 21). However Mounties have the superior defence, conceding just 17 points on average per match, while the Roosters have conceded 24 points per game. Mounties have a slightly better points differential.
For Mounties, Sebastian Kris has been named at centre, after he was a late omission in the match against the Bears, with Thomas McGrady dropping back to the bench. Corey Horsburgh has been named at lock in place of Josh Stuckey - but Horsburgh has also been named in the Mounties top 17 for the NSW Premiership match. Horsburgh had a great debut in the higher grade in Round 7, so don't expect him to line up in this match.
For the Roosters, Josh Curran moves into the second row, replacing Lyndon Hills, while Phillip Makatoa has been named in place of Curran at lock. Daniel Stojanovski, Stanley Malae and Daniel Suluka Fifita are new inclusions on the bench.
Both teams were last start losers, so this will come down to which team bounces back best. Mounties have generally produced very good defence this year, and it is going to be needed to contain the attacking strike of the Roosters. We'll go with Mounties in a close one.

Re: 2018 Mounties
No, it won't. Remarkably, given the Canberra Raiders Cup can organise one. They could organise them all to be live if they wanted, easily. Bar TV Sports could pump these games over YouTube with no problem at all.

the bar tv boys just don't have the resources though themselvesgreeneyed wrote:No, it won't. Remarkably, given the Canberra Raiders Cup can organise one. They could organise them all to be live if they wanted, easily. Bar TV Sports could pump these games over YouTube with no problem at all.

Mounties thrash Wyong Roos once again
Mounties kept their place at the top of the Intrust Super Premiership NSW ladder with a 44-4 win over a 12-man Wyong Roos outfit at Morry Breen Oval this afternoon.
With winger Sitiveni Moceidreke posting a personal tally of 22 points with a hat-trick of tries and five goals from nine attempts, the Mulga were untroubled to post their biggest win of the season to date.
Wyong had to play the last 60 minutes of the match with 12 men after winger Reece Robinson was sensationally sent off in the 20th minute by referee Kasey Badger for dissent.

Might see Abbey at 6 for Austin if he plays like crap, or the utility spot.dribble73 wrote:Spot on. Cornish at 1 and Abbey at 6 too.bonehead wrote:expect he probably swapped with Ed Murphy?zim wrote:Kalani Going at centre is an interesting choice.

Re: 2018 Mounties
Reece Robinson sent off for dissent. Did she ask him to get into the defensive line and he said 'I don't have too'? Then she said, but when your side doesn't have the football you have to defend. To which he replied 'I don't !#*and@$ have too'. She then said what a number of Raiders fans have said, 'You're off Reece!'.greeneyed wrote: ↑April 28, 2018, 7:27 pm Mounties thrash Wyong Roos once again

Re: 2018 Mounties
There’re cameras at every ground recording matches already. Bar TV just needs to add the live stream equipment and link to YouTube. They seem to be able to do it very easily, as they put all three Canberra Raiders Cup matches on at once a couple of weeks ago... by accident, it appears, as they’re only supposed to do one per day, it seems. They suspended two at half time when someone twigged they weren’t supposed to be broadcasting.bonehead wrote: ↑April 28, 2018, 6:55 pmthe bar tv boys just don't have the resources though themselvesgreeneyed wrote:No, it won't. Yes. Not about the capacity to do it at all. Just the will of the NSWRL.bonehead wrote:supposedly Foxsports have the digital/media rights for nsw cup.greeneyed wrote:There’re cameras at every ground recording matches already.
