NYC Match Preview: Raiders v Tigers

After a come from behind win against the Melbourne Storm, the Canberra Raiders NYC team are heading into this week’s match with the Wests Tigers looking to secure back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

“They are a really well drilled side and getting a comeback win over a team like the Storm gives us a lot of confidence” last week’s man of the match Brett Solomon said.

“The boys stuck together and our structure gelled as a result. We also kept the negativity out because we knew that mistakes were going to happen but we just rolled off them and moved on to the next job and kept going.”

Teams are on the field, it is not raining, but there's a bit of wind and dark clouds around. Wests Tigers kick off, we are underway!

19th min TRY RAIDERS Cameron Booth goes over in the corner. The referee says it is held up, but Canberra is making a captain's challenge. It's clearly a TRY. Decision overturned on the video. Ballard cannot convert from the sideline.

Raiders 4-0

22nd min TRY WESTS TIGERS to Matt Woods, lock and captain for the Tigers. It's scored near the posts, an easy four pointer off the back of the Raiders' error. Converted.

Anyone watching?

22 minutes in and I'd say we have made 15 mistakes, Brenko Lee thinks he's Jonathon Thurston, sadly he's nowhere near.

The guy won't make first grade, hope I'm wrong though

28th min Brenko Lee penalised for a high tackle, while defending the try line. There's nothing much in the incident. Wests Tigers on attack in the red zone.

TRY WESTS TIGERS in the eastern corner to Tom Satterthwaite. Matt Woods converts from the sideline.

Wests Tigers 12-4

Brenko Lee on report, which is absolutely ridiculous.

34th min Raiders receive a penalty for a strip, and they will attack from near the 40m line.

35th min TRY RAIDERS to Jordan Aiono after a Speechley kick pin balls off the Wests Tigers' feet. There is a captain's challenge, but the TRY is confirmed. Jordyn Ballard fails to convert after the long high kick gets blown off course by the wind.

Wests Tigers 12-8

Wests Tigers kick off is well out on the full. Penalty for Canberra on the half way.

39th min TRY RAIDERS to Brenko Lee. Wests Tigers are complaining about some obstruction, but there's no captain's challenge left for them. There's no obstruction in any case. Ballard's conversion attempt sprays to the left of the posts.

Wests Tigers 12
Canberra Raiders 12

All level at HALF TIME, though the Raiders have scored three tries to two.

Can brenko kick goals, he seems to be doing everything else.
My favorite forum member is 100%Green. Why? Because anyone who can convince my wife who runs two watch shops and doesnt realy like the Raiders to buy me a limited edition centenary of league Raiders watch is alright in my books.

It's hard god-damn work being a Raiders supporter!
