Good season though. Good luck to the guys leaving, there were a few I really enjoyed watching in the lower grades like Ahearn and Lynch.
I thought they were the better team, but just threw away opportunity after opportunity, then silly, incredibly silly play gave the Knights three tries.

I can not believe the apologists when he was entrenched in the first grade side.
Simply embarrassing the coaching staff and supporters.

The second tier recruitment has been non existent for 2016, so I suspect that was Mounties last shot at a grand final.

It's hard to imagine they'll have any shot next year given how thin the Raiders will be
They should have Sam Williams, Kurt Baptiste, and JK most weeks, and two of Brenko/Rapana/Sisa
That's maybe enough to be a finals team

Actually they could have
Hawkins, Brenko, Rapana, Williams, Baptiste/Garvey, TPJ, Kennedy, Mago... That's some quality across the park
They should still be strong

Has Mago been any good this year just out of interest?

Sticky gave JMc a two year contract last year. None of us could believe it at the time. I did not see the match today but have followed it on here. Did Sam Duggan get any game time? He kicked well against the Warriors in Mounties previous game, so if he got game time, I wonder why he wasn't given some shots at goal.

What we are missing right at this moment for next year is frontrowers

Last week Woolford kicks like crap....lose by 2
Today Cornish kicks like crap...lose by 4
The lower grade kickers don't get the guidance Toots gets obviously.

I was thinking that earlier
With Sezer and Croker have an embarrassment of riches and in the juniors we kick 1/ about 10 and bow out by a 2 and 4 points respectively

Halligan has worked miracles with Crokers goal kicking.
Cornish couldn't hit the side of a barn, especially on the left side side of the posts.
Absolutely below par....

RLPA president Clint Newton cries foul over Mounties player Mitch Barnett passing concussion test
THE concussion rule has taken a battering in the NRL recently and apparently the NSW Cup is mirroring the top grade to perfection.
During the NSW Cup preliminary final at Leichhardt Oval on Sunday, Mounties forward Mitch Barnett was called out by RLPA president and Newcastle captain Clint Newton on the field.
Barnett, the NSW Cup player of the year, was knocked into next week during the first half of the final and was taken from the field for a concussion test, helped to the sidelines by Mounties trainers.

Hasn't Clint got a conflict of interest here.
Sure he might be genuinely concerned but he could also be interested in the Mounties playing one player down

I was surprised when Barney came back on. And Clint had his Knights hat on and definitely not his RLPA hat on.

What, Clint Newton has become a doctor? He was trying to get advantage for his team. Simple.

We've now seen the Mounties and Raiders U20s bundle out in identical circumstances. Extremely poor goal kicking the difference between winning and losing.

That sure is a crappy way to lose - two intercept tries and a third off a grubber kick return, not to mention one-from-six goal kicking. The not silver lining I can find, though, is that it's much better to lose that way this week than in the GF next week.
