NYC Match Preview: Raiders v Eels

They’ve already spoiled the party for one premiership contender and this week the Canberra Raiders NYC team will be looking to take out an even bigger scalp when they face the Parramatta Eels at GIO Stadium on Saturday.

Last week’s win against the Wests Tigers was by far the gutsiest win the side has had all year and Mick Mantelli’s troops will be aiming to replicate that performance this week against an even tougher opponent.

Like the Wests Tigers, the Parramatta Eels have already recorded a comprehensive victory against our boys, but this is a different side to the one that the Eels faced earlier in the year.

3rd min TRY EELS to five eighth Ryan Matterson off the back of a penalty. Simple try from close to the line. Raiders player on the ground, medicab out there. Looks serious, taking a lot of time to put him safely on the stretcher. Can't quite pick up who it is. Nathan Davis converts after long delay.

Eels 6-0

MATCH REPORT: Eels too good for Raiders in Holden Cup

The Canberra Raiders NYC team have endured a tough afternoon after being blown off the park by a red hot Parramatta Eels outfit 50-10.

Parramatta came into the game needing a win by 30 or more points to move into fourth place on the ladder, they were ruthless in attack and outmuscled our boys who missed Luke Bateman after the captain went down in the third minute.

Lachlan Lewis was named man of the match in the final game of the year and he looks like a really bright prospect for the future.

Parramatta moved into the top four via the win but the Raiders can hold their heads high following a gutsy effort against a really quality outfit.

Parramatta Eels 50
Tries: Folau 2, Matterson 2, Lavaka, Fuimaono, Dockar-Clay, Li; Davis 7 goals

Canberra Raiders 10
Tries: Pangai, Barnett; Mago 1 goal
