NYC Match Preview: Raiders v Dragons

Buoyed by his team’s fighting spirit in last week’s loss to the second placed Parramatat Eels, NYC Coach Mick Mantelli will look for continued improvement when they take on the St George Illawarra Dragons on Saturday morning.

“The effort was there and I thought that the boys really dug in, but we were just outclassed and out-muscled in the end. It’s a good learning curve for these young players moving forward,” Mantelli said.

The most pleasing aspect for Mantelli was his side’s effort against a team that are premiership contenders. Understandably it’s been a frustrating year for the team with injuries cruelling the team’s chances as they were making a push for finals.

24th min Raiders get a penalty for a push, obstructing a Raiders defender on the try line. Otherwise it would have been a Dragons try.

It is followed by a big run from Kilu Pangai... Had he passed at the right time it would have been a four pointer for Canberra.

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

32nd min Canberra withstand another raid. The Raiders have had enough possession and territory to be much further in front, but they've not taken their chances. And strings of penalties have let the Dragons back into the game.

The quick tap off a 40/20 is stupid enough as it is without the Refs helping them out.

My understanding is that most of these players are 17 / 18. Is that the case? Can anyway give a breakdown of the ages of each member of the 17?
