NYC Match Preview: Raiders v Knights

The Canberra Raiders NYC team will be out for revenge when they return to GIO Stadium this week to face the undefeated Newcastle Knights.

“Obviously we need more urgency, a little bit more ticker. We have to want to be there and to play, it’s all about representing the Canberra jersey to a high standard and not taking it for granted,” captain Patrick Mago said.

“We've got to get one back from them [the Knights, after a loss to Newcastle in Round 2], especially now we are at home. We aren’t going to go out there and take them lightly, but we feel like they stole it at the end of the game last time. It’s going to be a good game and everyone is looking forward to trying to get the win this week.”

“Jared McIlwrick has been great [amongst players to impress so far in 2014], Jack Creith and Hursty (Lachlan Hurst) have been good down that left side and whatever they’re doing has been working. Mitchy (Barnett) has been good since coming back from suspension and Jules (Webley) has been good, but there are a number of others I could praise.”

20th min TRY KNIGHTS to hooker Danny Levi under the posts, poor defence from the Raiders, and mounting cost.

I'm not sure that a lack of fire power is the problem. I'd be more concerned about the fact that they seem to have forgotten how to tackle.

28th min TRY KNIGHTS to Danny Levi. Follows a puzzling decision from the video ref to not back up the on field referee for a stripping call... Which gave the Knights a scrum feed. Converted.

Raiders were dreadful in that, but if they'd not missed those easy kicks, it'd be a very close game.

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.
