I think the Captain's Challenge is a stupid idea when it goes against us.

73rd min TRY KNIGHTS to Joseph Tapine. The Raiders defence just cannot keep up, they've been on the back foot for most of the match. Converted Donovan.

Knights 48-28

Patrick Mago official Canberra Raiders man of the match. And on report for a late shoulder charge.

Lee has been very disappointing again.. clearly not ready for first grade imo. Pangai and Mago have been diabolical in defense also.

Poor performance

Barnett can hold his head high

Yeah, that was pretty awful. And hasn't Lee come back to the field in 2014!

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

I think getting leaner has had an effect on how destructive he is. In under 20s it seems the heavier you are the better.

NYC Match Report: Knights topple Raiders

Canberra’s NYC team has been unable to complete an upset victory over a strong Newcastle Knights team 48-28 this morning at GIO Stadium.

The Raiders were looking to be the first team to defeat the Knights team this year, and following their close defeat in Newcastle the Raiders were confident of causing an upset.

Canberra started the game well and were clearly pumped for their rematch with the Knights.

They scored in the 2nd minute after Lachlan Creith was able to break through some flimsy Knights defence and offload to halfback Andrew Heffernan.

Canberra Raiders 28

Tries: Mago 2, Frawley, Garard, Creith, Heffernan; Goals: Doyle 2

Newcastle Knights 48

Tries: Tapine 3, Levi 2, Birch, Pakau, Peni, Mata’Utia; Goals: Donovan 6

Just watched that on replay, and I know the commentators are saying it is a knock on from Garard, but I don't believe that there is any conclusive video evidence that would lead to the original decision from the on field referee being overturned. Not on the angles presented. It was just as likely off the leg of the Knights player. Big call in the context of the match.

NYC Judiciary: Tevita Pangai Junior faces 2-3 weeks

Raiders forward Tevita Pangai Junior faces 2-3 weeks at the NYC judiciary, after he was charged with a Grade two shoulder charge.

Pangai Junior will miss two matches if he takes the early guilty plea, or three weeks if he was to lose his case at the judiciary.
