Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

Re: 2014 Mounties
Tough way to end a pretty good season. They would've had a decent crack at it if they made it to week 2.
Re: 2014 Mounties
To be honest, it was a pretty disappointing performance, given it was 5 V 8. I wonder what would have happened with Cornish in the halves?

MATCH REPORT: Warriors advance in NSW Cup finals at expense of Mounties
The New Zealand Warriors advanced to the semifinal stage of the NSW Cup by beating Mounties - the Canberra Raiders feeder club - 36-28 in their elimination final at Leichhardt Oval on Sunday.
The Warriors led 36-16 with 13 minutes to play but had to withstand a late fightback after Kyle O'Donnell and former NSW five-eighth Terry Campese crossed to set up an edgy finish.
Mounties were close to bridging the gap further in the 77th minute but Sam Lousi fortunately grabbed possession after dangerous centre Mosese Pangai juggled the ball with the line beckoning.
NZ Warriors 36 (Carlos Tuimavave 2, Siliva Havili, Tangi Ropati, Michael Sio, Jarrod Tua tries; Chad Townsend 6 goals)
Mounties 28 (Reece Robinson, Sami Saulima, Tevita Pangai, Kyle O'Donnell, Terry Campese tries; Campese 4 goals)
Halftime: 22-16

2014 Mounties
MATCH REPORT: Mounties V NZ Warriors
Week 1 Finals
Sunday 6th September 2014
Leichhardt Oval
Mounties have bowed out of the 2014 VB NSW Cup finals series with a disappointing 36-28 loss to the NZ Warriors on Sunday at Leichhardt Oval.
With the prospect of having a host of Canberra Raiders stars return to the club if they got through week 1 it was a shocking start for Mounties with slow play the balls and penalties gifting the Warriors a try in the 8th minute where they led 6-0.
It didn't get any better for Mounties when Ryan Carr was injured in a tackle and the Warriors were smart enough to exploit the extra man and score down his edge for a 12 nil lead in the 15th minute.
Soon after the horror story continued for Mounties with continued penalties and wrong options handing the Warriors field position and in the space of 10 minutes they had scored another two tries to lead 22-0 at the 25 minute mark.
It took Mounties until the half hour mark before they woke up and it was Reece Robinson who crossed when he got a nice pass from Jack Ahearn who has sliced the Warriors line open to make it 22-4 after Campese missed the conversion.
Mounties leading try scorer Sami Sauiluma then scored his customary try, crashing over in the corner with Campese making the conversion, Mounties trailed 22-10.
Five minutes later the Warriors looked fatigued and Tevita Pangai took advantage of the lack lustre defence to barge over near the posts to make 22-16 with the conversion and Mounties suddenly looked energetic.
With only second left on the clock a penalty saw Campese kick a 40/20 and from the restart it was shifted to Mounties left edge with winger Wayne Dargan almost going over in the corner but he was denied and the score remained 22-16 at the break.

2014 VB NSW Cup Team of the Year
The NSWRL.com.au VB NSW Cup Team of the Year (TOTY) for 2014 is:
1) Nathan Ross - (Newcastle Knights)
2) Bureta Faraimo - (Wentworthville Magpies)
3) Sami Sauiluma - (Mounties)
4) Asipeli Fine - (Wests Tigers)
5) Josh Mantellato - (Newcastle Knights)
6) Will Smith - (Penrith Panthers)
7) Michael Dobson - (Newcastle Knights)
8) Magnus Stromquist - (Wyong Roos)
9) Mitch Williams - (Wyong Roos)
10) Tim Robinson - (Cronulla Sharks)
11) Jake Foster - © (Mounties)
12) Raymond Faitala-Mariner - (NZ Warriors)
13) Ryan Simpkins - (Penrith Panthers)
14) Tyler Randell - (Newcastle Knights)
15) Shannon Wakeman - (Illawarra Cutters)
16) Sam Anderson - (Penrith Panthers)
17) Lachlan Burr - (Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs)
18) Clinton Gutherson - (Manly Warringah Sea Eagles)
COACH: Rip Taylor (Wyong Roos)
CENTRES – Sami Sauiluma and Asipeli Fine
Two very different styles of player here but nonetheless very deserving. Sami Sauiluma bagged himself 20 tries in 15 appearances for Mounties in 2014 as well as making a few NRL appearances for the Raiders. Mounties were one of the most explosive offensive teams this year and Sauiluma was a large reason for that.
Honourable mention - Jeremy Hawkins
FIVE-EIGHTH – Honourable mention - Jack Ahearn
HALFBACK – Honourable mention - Mitch Cornish
PROPS – Honourable mention - Mark Nicholls
HOOKER - Honourable mention - Matt McIlwrick
SECOND ROWERS – Jake Foster and Raymond Faitala-Mariner
Certainly a position where there was tremendous depth and although we felt Jake Foster picked himself, the selection of Faitala-Mariner may raise an eyebrow or two. Foster made 22 starts for Mounties this year and also bagged himself 12 tries, many of those coming early in the year when he was scoring them for fun. Foster was one of the VB NSW Cup Representative sides best in their loss to QLD, but his endeavour and leadership both on and off the park sees him as a standout candidate for not only this side, but as its captain.
Honourable mention – Lagi Setu, Tevita Pangai Jnr

The Entrance 10-6 at half time.
Huge brawl just before half time, saw two players from each team sent to the bin for 10. It got pretty ugly, they were even fighting on the presentation dias.
Joey Bond goes over near the posts now...

Ron Massey Cup super brawl mars grand final
THE Ron Massey Cup Grand final between Mounties and the Entrence Tigers has been marred by a super all-in brawl that spilled over sideline and onto the presentation stage.
In all three players were sent to the sin bin in what has been dubbed ‘the biggest rugby league stink of the past few years’.

Albury Thunder captain Lou Goodwin to have a crack at NRL career
ALBURY Thunder captain Lou Goodwin has signed with NSW Cup team Mounties.
In a bid to crack a spot in NRL senior ranks, the 23-year-old Weissel medallist will relocate to Sydney this week to play with the Canberra Raiders’ feeder club.
The triple Albury premiership star took out Thunder’s best and fairest award on Saturday night ahead of teammate Jake Grace.
http://www.bordermail.com.au/story/2622 ... tos/?cs=10
Lou is my cousin and it's good to see him having another crack. He's the son of former Panther Matt Goodwin and his younger brother played Under 20's and NSW Cup for the Sharks this year. He was captain of the Roosters under 20's team in 2011 playing alongside the likes of Boyd Cordner, Ethan Lowe, Kane Evans and Cheyse Blair. I watched a fair bit of him that year and he averaged 40+ tackles for the season, rarely missing and I remember 1 game where he made about 65 tackles which you don't see too often in the NYC. He left the Roosters because he wasn't enjoying living in the city.
It's not going to be easy for him since the Mounties have some serious depth in the back row with Kennedy, Edwards, Foster, Setu, McIlwrick, Pangai, Bateman and Mago all possibly spending time in NSW Cup, but when he gets a crack keep an eye on him.
