Queanbeyan Blues beat Goulburn Bulldogs to win Canberra Raiders Cup title
The Queanbeyan Blues have won the Canberra Raiders Cup 2014 premiership in extra time after, downing the Goulburn Workers Bulldogs 24-20 at Seiffert Oval on Sunday.
It ended six years of grand final heartache for the east-Queanbeyan venture, after losing last year's grand final by one point to the Queanbeyan Kangaroos in extra time.
The Blues came out firing to start the match, and some great footwork by half Ben Nicoll saw him crash over the line to give his men an early six point advantage.

Queanbeyan Blues win Canberra Raiders Cup reserve grade premiership
The Queanbeyan Blues' reserve grade side have got the Canberra Raiders Cup grand final day off to a perfect start at Seiffert Oval today, beating the West Belconnen Warriors 22-14 to take the silverware.
Having lost last year's grand final to cross-town rivals the Queanbeyan Kangaroos, which denied them the chance to win back-to-back titles, the boys in blue came out firing for a rampant victory over their favoured opponents.
And having comprehensively beaten the Roos a week ago in the preliminary final, they showed their confidence was sky high in their grand final effort against minor premiers West Belconnen.

Re: 2014 Canberra Raiders Cup
Heartache for Bulldogs
THE Bulldogs have fallen agonisingly short in a nail-biting Canberra Raiders Cup grand-final thriller yesterday afternoon.
After Bulldogs flyer Nathan Chappell levelled scores to 20-all in the dying minutes of regular time, the Doggies couldn't muster the grunt to match the Queanbeyan Blues in a dramatic extra-time encounter. The Blues won 24-20.
It was Blues go-to man, David Pangai, who stormed through the Bulldogs line straight off the bat in the first minute of added time.
His grubber kick forward fell into the hands of Blues winger Leu Saipani who only had to fall over the line to lift the roof off Seiffert Oval.

Blues win the Canberra Raiders Cup Grand Final
The Queanbeyan Blues have erased last year’s heartbreak with a thrilling, extra-time victory over Goulburn Workers Bulldogs in the 2014 TTM Canberra Raiders Cup Grand Final.
The Blues led from start to finish during the regular season last year however they went down in the decider in painful circumstances to cross-town rivals the Queanbeyan Kangaroos.
“It was a tough loss to take last year,” Blues Captain Marc Herbert said. “We dominated even more so than this year and lost only one match during the season but we also unfortunately lost the big one.
“We didn’t want to let this one slip through our fingers.”
