Unless we re-sign the great Tyler Cornish. He is up next GE!!
Tyler two years younger. Shouldn't have let him go, hey?
At the time Tyler left he had Mitch, Milford, McCrone, Williams, Campese and potentially Worboys and Ahearn in the halves in front of him.

But yeah we should have paid enough to keep him over the roosters so he could be our back up, back up for 12 months

has it even occurred to you that the reason he is not with us is not because we didnt want him but because HE didnt want to be stuck behind so many players in our system?

I'd like to hear what David Shillington thinks about Tyler Cornish.

MATCH REPORT: Canberra Raiders one match away from the Holden Cup Grand Final after defeating Tigers

The Huawei Canberra Raiders Under 20s side is just one game away from the Holden Cup Grand Final after beating the Wests Tigers 36-16 this afternoon at Allianz Stadium.

The Raiders were in control the whole match utilising controlled attack and rock solid defence to prevent the Tigers from ever really getting into the game.

Canberra were best served by Bateman and Garard who both made a tonne of ground each time they handled the ball. Next week the Raiders take on the Penrith Panthers. The time and venue are yet to be decided.

Warriors win 58-6 over the Roosters in the other match. They now meet the Bulldogs, while the Raiders meet the Panthers.

Bateman, heffernan and Hawkins show tremendous amounts of talent. The reason I think those three are more likely to succeed at first grade is that their defence is top notch.

Also very impressed with Mago, Barnett, Pengai and a few others.

Still not entirely sure that Cornish and Ahearn will make it as quality first graders.

Heffernan is a weapon, it's as simple as that. Absolute star in the making.

That was in response to the article on raiders.com.au which stated Garard was one of the players making metres at will.

Canberra Raiders maul Wests Tigers in Holden Cup final

It's not often a coach describes his team as ''jaded'' after winning a semi-final by 20 points.

''To be honest, I thought we were probably still a bit jaded from last week, I thought we could lift a bit more,'' Mantelli said.

''I think we can [go another level], definitely.

''Penrith will throw a bit more at us than the Tigers, who were down a few troops. We need to pick our defence up.''

CANBERRA RAIDERS 36 (Brenko Lee, Jonathon Reuben, Jeremy Hawkins, Patrick Mago, Ricky Garard, Mitchell Barnett, Dennis Tomarchio tries; Mitch Cornish 4 goals) bt WESTS TIGERS 16 (Brenden Santi, Manaia Cherrington, Andrew Kazzi tries; Manaia Rudolph 2 goals) at Allianz Stadium on Friday.

Agree with those comments about heffernan, he could be anything, so so solid in defense and has very good speed and skill in attack, has showed some good ballplaying skills too.
Country boy too so no running home.

Barnett, both Pangais and Mago are all excellent as well. Gee this team has a lot of raw talent. Imagine if Milford was still eligible.

19 since last October according to the Raiders site. I think that might be a typo though. I have a feeling he is still 18, and was 17 when he played U20s origin.

He definitely played U18's for Queensland this year, so I think you're right.

Ta. Yeah, given he played SG Ball this year I thought he'd have to be 18 at most.

Bateman and Barnett show toughness/ hardness. They put their bodies on the line and basically taking the beating they know is coming. They seem happy to dish it out too.

Heffernan and Hawkins show class. They are also a lot stronger than they look. But D in u20s is rare and these 2 can definately defend.

Mago and the Pangai's have the skills. They are strong enough, and are happy to play tough, but ill wait and see. I think Mago is the most likely of the 3 to succeed.

I'm really impressed with Mago this year. He is a genuine 80 minute player and does a lot of quality work off the ball.

I'd rate Tevita Pangai as the most likely to be an out and out star though.

Tevita Pangai has the potential to be anything, but he's looked a bit lazy at times. I'm not too worried about that though, since he's still only 17 or 18 he's got plenty of growing and maturing to do. He could be the next SBW or he could be the next Tony Williams, either way he's a very exciting prospect.
