Holden Cup Round 20 Match Preview: Raiders V Dragons

After both scoring hat-tricks against the Eels last weekend, Jeremy Hawkins and Andrew Heffernan have been moved closer to the action for the clash with the St George Illawarra Dragons this Saturday, as the Raiders look to retain their position atop of the NYC ladder. Hawkins shifts from wing to centre and Heffernan shifts from centre to five-eighth. “They were very impressive last week and their switch is something that’s got to do with the best balance of the team when we run into the last games of the season,” Mantelli said. “They’re two very talented players and we want to get the ball in their hands as much as possible.” Heffernan’s move to his preferred five-eighth position was permitted due to the loss of Jordan Worboys who has succumbed to an ankle injury.

TRY RAIDERS to Jonathon Reuben, good backline move started by Cornish, good final pass from Ahearn to Reuben and he scores in the corner. Cornish misses the goal from the sideline.

The more I see of Ahearn, the more excited I get. He just looks like he has a real football brain. The unfortunate thing is he may have to look elsewhere for a first grade spot. Although I wouldn't mind seeing he and Cornish as our future halves.

32nd min Jack Creith trapped in goal in the corner by the Dragons, Raiders forced into a line drop out. Cornish gets only about 35m through the kick as well. But the Dragons can't take advantage, dropping the ball close to the line. Raiders scrum 10m out.
