Wow. Terrible 2 calls against the Raiders.
Thankfully the cowboys throw a forward pass, it seemed a poor call too

We did it hard , on the end of some very dodgy calls , blatant wrong calls
Re: 2013 Holden Cup: Rd 7 V Cowboys
Good tough win against disgraceful reffing. I was impressed with Lynch and Barnett.
Re: 2013 Holden Cup: Rd 7 V Cowboys
Tried their best to lose it, but couldn't quite manage
Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

Can anyone tell me the reasoning of moving Milford to the back in the 2nd half ?
It did affect our attack , he is our most dangerous attacking player

Re: 2013 Holden Cup: Rd 7 V Cowboys
Well, someone needs to investigate that Ref only on the assumption that he'll ever make it to FG. The last 5 penalties to NQ. Their big no. 8 fell over in the ruck for two of them - the first time he played the ball halfway thru the tackle the second time no Raider was within a metre of him. The other 3 were just plain cheating, they didn't seem to be 50/50 calls by any stretch of the imagination. They've started hitting Milford late and high, so maybe he needs to come in from fullback into the halves so that some big guys can protect him. Our props were great (8 + 10 + Pangai) and the blonde guy at 11 was really really good. Ahearn is showing promise, I suppose he always has, but FG will hit him at some stage. Branko Lee was very menacing and he made some very hard yards. We deserved to win by 16, not 4. Graham McKay's kid is a goal kicker like I'm a porn star.

Do we have to put up with such crap refereeing in U20's as well - would have thought the presumption that the Raiders will lose would apply only to FG?

Both excellent, Barnett a real surprise - just because I hadn't seen much of him before. Milford reported for tackling low without use of arms - I think he'll be ok. If not, cycle Cornish back from Mounties.edwahu wrote:Good tough win against disgraceful reffing. I was impressed with Lynch and Barnett.

Pretty sure he was at the back in the first half too. I remember him returning the first Cowboy's kick.Raidersrawesome wrote:Can anyone tell me the reasoning of moving Milford to the back in the 2nd half ?

MATCH REPORT: Raiders hold on for win over Cowboys in North Queensland
A superb first half effort by the Canberra Raiders National Youth Competition side has laid the platform for an 18-14 win over the North Queensland Cowboys at 1300 Smiles Stadium.
The win by the Raiders means that the Green Machine have not tasted defeat since round one and have consolidated a position in the top eight.
Canberra registered six line breaks to the Cowboys one, nine offloads to three and 709 metres to 451 on the back of a 64% possession rate in the first half.
The Raiders forwards, namely Mitchell Barnett and Jeff Lynch completely dominated their North Queensland counterparts and enabled the likes of Jack Ahearn, Brenko Lee and Anthony Milford to wreak havoc in the backline.
