Player caught drink driving in unregistered vehicle
Just heard it on the radio. Apparently it's a prominent player as well. Obviously we pray it wasn't one of our players and specifically that guy thats been in a bit of trouble lately.
Can't help but panic now, is this how it's going to feel every time an NRL player is suspected of being in trouble with the law?

you think todd carney is going to get pissed and drive around an unregistered vehicle not even a week after he has been to court for previously being a **** idiot?Meninga wrote:You need to take your own advice.Poida_Raider wrote:you people are unbelievable. i dont think there is any way that it will be a raider, and there sure as hell is no f**kin way it'll be todd carney.. get real.

sorry to be negative, but thats just the way i see it, and most people with any sense would.
Todd is a **** idiot - he drove without a licence and sped away from the cops a couple of months after being within a whisker of jail for doing drunk burn-outs in Goulburn - he doesn't deserve any credit.Poida_Raider wrote:you think todd carney is going to get pissed and drive around an unregistered vehicle not even a week after he has been to court for previously being a f**kin idiot?Meninga wrote:You need to take your own advice.Poida_Raider wrote:you people are unbelievable. i dont think there is any way that it will be a raider, and there sure as hell is no f**kin way it'll be todd carney.. get real.

Police charge Bulldogs Williams, Roberts
The off-field reputation of NRL club the Bulldogs took another battering with New Zealand internationals Ben Roberts and superstar Sonny Bill Williams both caught up in police matters for illegal behaviour.
Halfback Roberts was charged Sunday with several traffic offences including driving under the influence while it was revealed Williams had been caught urinating in public last weekend when the Dogs were given time off for the bye.
Williams was busted by police relieving himself outside of a nightclub in Cronulla and was handed an infringement notice and fine worth $650.
It is his second public incident this season after an alleged dalliance with ironwoman Candice Falzon, known as the "Dunny Bill Williams incident", was caught on camera phone in a toilet cubicle at the Clovelly Hotel despite the player having a long term girlfriend.
His 21-year-old teammate Roberts, who had also been romantically linked to Falzon, continued the bad run of player behaviour Sunday morning when police pulled him over for a random breath test at 9.45am on Bellingara Road in Miranda, in Sydney's south.
Roberts blew 0.03 which is above the zero tolerance level for probationary licensed drivers.
He was taken to Miranda police station where he was charged with low-range prescribed concentration of alcohol, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving an uninsured vehicle, and not displaying his p-plates.
He will appear in Sutherland Local Court on July 12.
A Bulldogs spokesman confirmed Roberts had been caught by police and said "the club is still gathering all the information" before they would make an official statement.
Roberts called coach Steve Folkes immediately after the incident occurred to inform the club what had happened.
It is understood Roberts had been out the night before and thought he had slept it off before getting in the car, which belongs to a friend.
Bulldogs officials would not discuss what sort of penalty Roberts faces for his behaviour, but he could expect heavy ramifications from the club after he and Willie Tonga were this week dropped to premier league for breaking team curfew on a recent away trip to Auckland.
The pair arrived less than half an hour late from the team imposed 1am curfew after the Dogs win over New Zealand Warriors and coach Folkes punished them with demotion.
Despite the punishment, Roberts signed a new two-year deal to stay at the club this week.
"I'm very grateful for the opportunities that (Bulldogs coach) Steve Folkes has given me in my time here and I look forward to learning more from the coaches and the senior players," Roberts said at the time of signing.
"The spirit and unity that exists across the Bulldogs club makes it a great place to be a part of."

$650 for taking a pissWilliams was busted by police relieving himself outside of a nightclub in Cronulla and was handed an infringement notice and fine worth $650.
Anyway, he was obviously only nabbed because he is a footy player... Let's be honest here, how many of us have taken a piss on some random place
Bulldogs in trouble again
BULLDOGS star and NRL pin-up boy Sonny Bill Williams has been hit with a $650 infringement notice after being caught urinating in public by police.
Williams' behaviour has attracted a stinging rebuke from a fed-up NRL chief executive David Gallop, who claimed the New Zealand Test player had "problems when drinking".
The drama with Williams comes as Bulldogs halfback Ben Roberts was yesterday morning charged by police with drink-driving.
Bulldogs chief executive Malcolm Noad was not returning calls last night but the Belmore club – second last on the NRL table – are in disarray.
The Daily Telegraph understands Williams was at Fusions nightclub in Cronulla at 1.30am on Sunday – the Bulldogs had the bye – when he left with a friend for some takeaway food.
Williams told club officials he had been heckled inside the club by other patrons and wanted to leave.
It is understood Williams then attempted to find a "dark area" in public where he could urinate – but was sprung by a passing police car.
He was issued with a $650 infringement notice but not charged.
Williams will not contest the fine, but his growing list of indiscretions on the booze has angered Gallop.
"Due to the number of incidents, Sonny Bill Williams and the Bulldogs must accept that he is inches from enough is enough territory," Gallop said.
"He needs to be placed on a formal program to deal with the problems he has when drinking.
"As recent times show, a sporting club's culture and their reputation are defined by the behaviour of their star players and how they deal with the issues. The Bulldogs could take a leaf out of Canberra's book in how they dealt with the Todd Carney situation."
A Bulldogs spokesman said the club was investigating the incident.
"We are still gathering facts," he said. "No decision yet has been made in regards to disciplinary action."
Roberts is understood to have registered a 0.03 blood-alcohol limit but as a P-plater he has a 0.02 alcohol limit.
It is understood Roberts was caught by police at 9.45am yesterday in Miranda.
He had been out the night before but had not driven home.
Roberts was breathalysed the next morning when driving a friend's car.
"Drink-driving is a common social problem but if players aren't getting the message about excessive drinking, then the club needs to take further steps in respect to that as well," Gallop said.
The off-field drama comes as the Bulldogs struggle with on-field performances.
A loss on Friday night to the Brisbane Broncos keeps the Bulldogs on just 12 points – one win off the bottom.
There remains talk of unrest in the camp after the club told hooker Corey Hughes last month that he would be unwanted in 2008.
Leading players – in support of teammate Hughes – then went public questioning the decision.
There were suggestions last month that the Bulldogs board was dissatisfied with the performance of coach Steve Folkes.
Board members were then forced to publicly support their coach.
